🧠 Minds Matter: sharing the results of our international project

We are happy to share the results of Minds Matter, an Erasmus+ youth project in which we participated as a partner together with organisations from Poland, Estonia, Hungary and France.

The project brought young people together during two international meetings, in Campagne, France in July 2025 and in Lihula, Estonia February 2026, creating a space to explore one of the most important issues affecting young people today: mental health and well-being.

Together with our partner organisations Lääneranna Noored, Creative Youth Academy and MAISON DE L EUROPE DES LANDES WIPSEE, young people worked on topics such as stress management, emotions, communication, social media, peer support, empathy, inclusion and intercultural cooperation.

The project helped young people:

💚 MINDS MATTER: Dissemination Event in Poland 🇪🇺

The Minds Matter journey continues through our local communities! 🧠💚

Following the international activities of the Erasmus+ Youth Participation project Minds Matter, Europejskie Forum Młodzieży “FRATERNITAS” organised a dissemination activity in Poland to share the project’s experiences, results and key messages with the local and international community.

🌍 Minds Matter brought together young people from Poland 🇵🇱, Estonia 🇪🇪, Hungary 🇭🇺 and France 🇫🇷 through two international meetings: in Campagne, France in 2025 and in Lihula, Estonia.

Together with our partner organisations Lääneranna Noored, Creative Youth Academy and MAISON DE L EUROPE DES LANDES WIPSEE, young participants explored one of the most important topics affecting young people today: mental health and well-being.

During the project, we focused on:
🧠 understanding stress and developing healthy ways of managing emotions
🗣️ strengthening open communication, self-expression and the confidence to speak about mental health
📱 exploring the impact of social media, digital environments and information overload on young people’s well-being
🤝 promoting peer support, empathy and stronger connections between young people
🌍 developing intercultural understanding, inclusion and cooperation between young people from different European countries
💚 During the dissemination activity in Poland, we shared the experiences and results developed throughout the project and discussed how the knowledge gained during Minds Matter can be used in everyday life, youth work and local communities.

Participants had the opportunity to:
✅ learn more about the Minds Matter project and its international activities
✅ discover the methods, experiences and results created by young participants
✅ discuss challenges connected with stress, emotions and mental well-being
✅ reflect on the importance of communication, peer support and creating safe spaces for young people
✅ explore how non-formal education can support mental health awareness and personal development
✅ learn more about Erasmus+ and opportunities for youth participation and international cooperation
💬 One of the key messages of Minds Matter is simple: mental health matters, and young people should have spaces where they feel safe to talk, express themselves, support each other and ask for help when they need it.

Thanks to Polish Participants for organising it also thanks to everyone who took part in the dissemination activity, listened to our experiences, shared their perspectives and helped us spread the message of Minds Matter! 💚

The international meetings may be completed, but the knowledge, experiences and connections created through the project can continue supporting young people and inspiring more open conversations about mental health and well-being. 🧠🤝🌍

🌿 YOUth Well-being Rooted in Nature

From 25 to 30 July, our volunteers from Poland participated in the Erasmus+ Training Course “YOUth Well-being Rooted in Nature” in Goričko, Slovenia. 🇸🇮

The project brought together youth workers from Slovenia, Malta, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Ukraine to exchange experiences and explore how nature-based methods can support young people’s mental health and well-being.

Throughout the training, participants developed their knowledge of wilderness therapy, outdoor therapy and nature-based approaches in youth work. Through practical activities, reflection and group work, they explored how contact with nature can help reduce stress, strengthen resilience, encourage self-awareness, build positive relationships and support emotional well-being.

An important part of the programme focused on translating knowledge into practice. Participants created, tested and exchanged new tools and activities that can be applied in future youth work, giving them practical methods to use with young people in their local communities.

The training also created space for intercultural learning, professional exchange and cooperation between youth workers from different European countries. 🌍

Our volunteers returned from Slovenia with new competencies, practical tools, international connections and fresh perspectives on using nature as a resource for supporting young people’s well-being. 🌲💚

🇵🇱 DEMOCRACY UP: Dissemination Event in Poland 🇪🇺

The Democracy UP journey continues through our local communities! 💙

After completing the international activities of the project, Europejskie Forum Młodzieży “FRATERNITAS” organised a dissemination event in Poland, bringing together more than 50 participants to share the experiences, results and educational tools developed throughout the project.

🌍 During the event, we looked back at our international activities in Loutraki, Greece 🇬🇷 and Poronin, Poland 🇵🇱, where young people from Poland, Greece and Portugal worked together to explore democracy, active citizenship and youth participation.

Participants had the opportunity to:
✅ discover the results and educational tools created within Democracy UP
✅ discuss how young people can become more involved in local democratic life
✅ explore opportunities such as youth councils, public consultations, volunteering and community initiatives
✅ experience how non-formal education, simulations, teamwork and discussions can make democracy easier to understand
✅ learn more about Erasmus+ and opportunities for international cooperation and youth participation

💬 One of the most important messages of the meeting was simple: democracy is not only about elections. It is also about having a voice, expressing opinions, taking initiative and participating in decisions that affect our communities.

The Democracy UP project may have reached its closing stage, but the knowledge, tools and motivation created during the project can continue inspiring young people to become active citizens and make their voices heard. 🗣️🇪🇺

🇪🇺 DEMOCRACY UP in Action! 🇪🇺

21-28 March 2026 in Poronin became a amazing hub of international cooperation, civic engagement, and youth empowerment through the Erasmus+ project "Democracy UP" (2025-1-PL01-KA154-YOU-000302036). FRATERNITAS as host and partners: ASSOCIAÇĂO FORTES SEMPRE and U GROW worked together.

Young activists and youth workers from 🇬🇷 Greece, 🇵🇹 Portugal, and 🇵🇱 Poland reunited after their first meeting in Greece earlier this year. Back then, participants worked together to design innovative educational workshops focused on democracy, active citizenship, participation, and civic responsibility.

Now, they gathered in Poronin to put these ideas into practice.

For 6 intensive days, participants delivered and refined workshops on democracy, engaging local young people and international volunteers representing 16 different countries. During 2 dedicated testing days, the newly created educational tools were evaluated, improved, and adapted to ensure they can effectively support youth participation across Europe.

One of the most memorable moments of the project was the visit of the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, who met with participants and discussed democracy, civic engagement, and the role of young people in shaping the future of Europe. The meeting created a unique opportunity for direct dialogue and inspired participants to continue their involvement in public life.

Through intercultural exchange, practical learning, and meaningful discussions, Democracy UP demonstrated that young people are not only the future of democracy, but also its active builders today.

A huge thank you to all participants, facilitators, local youth, international volunteers, and partners who contributed to making this project a success!

🔐✨ Escape Horizon: Unlocking YOUth Learning ✨🔐

From 1–6 May 2026, youth workers, trainers and educators from Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Greece, Poland and Malta came together in Slovenia for the Erasmus+ Training Course Escape Horizon: Unlocking YOUth Learning.

Throughout the week, participants explored how escape rooms and gamification can be used as innovative tools in youth work and non-formal education. Through practical workshops, teamwork, sharing experiences and intercultural exchange, they developed new skills and discovered creative approaches for engaging young people.

Beyond the workshops, the project created a space for meaningful connections, inspiration and collaboration across borders. Participants left with fresh perspectives, practical tools and renewed motivation to make learning more engaging, inclusive and impactful for young people.

🇪🇺✨ Minds Matter | Erasmus+ Youth Participation Event in Estonia ✨🇪🇪

From February 16th to 21st, young participants from France, Estonia, Hungary and Poland came together in Lihula, Estonia for the second phase of the Erasmus+ project Minds Matter 💚

Together with our partner organizations Lääneranna Noored, Creative Youth Academy and MAISON DE L EUROPE DES LANDES WIPSEE, we explored one of the most important topics for young people today: mental health.

During the exchange, we discussed:
🧠 stress and emotional management
🗣️ open communication and self-expression
📱 the impact of media and information overload
🤝 peer support and well-being
🌍 intercultural understanding and inclusion

Participants shared their experiences, reflected on challenges faced by young people in different countries, and learned practical tools to take care of both mental and emotional well-being.

The week also included inspiring meetings with local school representatives and decision-makers, giving young people the opportunity to raise their voices and exchange ideas about mental health awareness and support.

Because mental health is also about balance and self-care, we slowed down and enjoyed:

🧘 yoga sessions
🔥 sauna moments
💭 reflection and mindfulness activities

As a result of the project, participants created podcasts, resource materials, and videos to continue spreading awareness about mental health among young people.

🇪🇺 Erasmus+ Project “Democracy UP” | Poronin, Poland (22–27 March)

From March 22–27, Poronin hosted the international Erasmus+ project “Democracy UP” (No. 2025-1-PL01-KA154-YOU-000302036), bringing together 24 young activists and youth workers from Poland, Greece, and Portugal. Participants collaborated to strengthen civic competencies and empower young people to engage more actively in social and public life.

One of the most remarkable moments of the project was the unexpected visit of Andrzej Duda President of Poland on March 23. His informal meeting with participants came as a surprise and quickly turned into a truly inspiring experience.

The visit took place at the invitation of Łukasz Radecki, President of the FRATERNITAS Association, the project’s organizer. It reflected strong support for youth-focused initiatives and efforts to build an active civil society.

During the meeting, President Andrzej Duda engaged in an open dialogue with participants. The discussion focused on the importance of democracy, the role of young people in public life, and the need for greater youth involvement in local communities. The relaxed atmosphere encouraged meaningful exchanges and thoughtful questions.

Participants gained valuable experience in an international environment and explored different perspectives on how democracy functions across Europe. The exchange of ideas between representatives of three countries was a key element of the program.

The project was made possible thanks to the support of the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, which promotes educational mobility and international cooperation.

The unexpected visit of President of Poland highlighted the importance of intergenerational dialogue and building connections between young people and public figures. For participants, it was a unique experience that may inspire further civic engagement.
