🇪🇺 Erasmus+ Project “Democracy UP” | Poronin, Poland (22–27 March)

From March 22–27, Poronin hosted the international Erasmus+ project “Democracy UP” (No. 2025-1-PL01-KA154-YOU-000302036), bringing together 24 young activists and youth workers from Poland, Greece, and Portugal. Participants collaborated to strengthen civic competencies and empower young people to engage more actively in social and public life.

One of the most remarkable moments of the project was the unexpected visit of Andrzej Duda President of Poland on March 23. His informal meeting with participants came as a surprise and quickly turned into a truly inspiring experience.

The visit took place at the invitation of Łukasz Radecki, President of the FRATERNITAS Association, the project’s organizer. It reflected strong support for youth-focused initiatives and efforts to build an active civil society.

During the meeting, President Andrzej Duda engaged in an open dialogue with participants. The discussion focused on the importance of democracy, the role of young people in public life, and the need for greater youth involvement in local communities. The relaxed atmosphere encouraged meaningful exchanges and thoughtful questions.

Participants gained valuable experience in an international environment and explored different perspectives on how democracy functions across Europe. The exchange of ideas between representatives of three countries was a key element of the program.

The project was made possible thanks to the support of the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, which promotes educational mobility and international cooperation.

The unexpected visit of President of Poland highlighted the importance of intergenerational dialogue and building connections between young people and public figures. For participants, it was a unique experience that may inspire further civic engagement.

Youth Participation in Action!

From 23-30 November 2025, Loutraki (Greece) became a space for ideas, debates, and real youth power as 24 young people aged 18-30 from Greece, Portugal, and Poland came together for the Erasmus+ project Democracy Up.

The project was funded by the European Union under Erasmus+ Programme
📄 Project number: 2025-1-PL01-KA154-YOU-000302036
🏛️ Program: Erasmus+ KA154-YOU – Youth Participation Activity
🤝 Hosted by U.Grow
🧭 Coordinated by FRATERNITAS

✨ What was Democracy Up about?
The project focused on strengthening youth engagement in democratic life and helping young people understand how much their voices matter. Through interactive workshops, discussions, debates, and simulated elections, participants explored democracy from a practical angle and learned how to take part in elections, policy making, and civic actions with confidence.

🛠️ What we did
Participants worked hands-on to design educational tools for young people, joined discussion groups, and tested democratic decision making in real-life scenarios. Diversity and inclusion were key values, with space for young people from different backgrounds and with fewer opportunities to actively shape the process.

📈 What we achieved
Participants deepened their understanding of democracy and civic engagement
New tools about politics, voting, and participation were created for other young people
Confidence and motivation to engage in democratic processes grew strongly
Youth voices were empowered at local, national, and European levels

🔄 What’s next?
The project continues in Poland from 21-28 March 2026, where the same participants will test the newly created tools with local youth. The outcome will be a digital Toolbox and Edupack, open and available to everyone.

Democracy grows when young people step up.
And this is just the beginning 💪🇪🇺

Minds Matter

From 8th to 13th July 2025, the “Minds Matter” project brought together young people and organizations from France, Poland, Estonia, and Hungary on a beautiful farm in Campagne, France. The main focus of this unique event was youth mental health and wellbeing. 🧠💚

During the week, participants took part in interactive workshops, group discussions, and creative activities, exploring topics such as:
💬 How to maintain mental and emotional wellbeing
💪 Techniques to cope with stress and school pressure
🤝 Ways to support yourself and others during difficult times

This project was not only a chance to learn from experts but also to share experiences and cultural perspectives. Participants discovered practical strategies for balancing daily life, improving self-care, and building stronger connections with peers. 🌱

The collaborative environment allowed everyone to connect across borders, exchange ideas, and strengthen European friendship and solidarity. The inspiring discussions and exercises helped participants understand the importance of mental health and the tools to nurture it in everyday life.

The next stage of the project will take place in February 2026 in Lihula, Estonia, where the same participants will continue working together on these important themes, sharing their progress and developing new initiatives to support youth mental health in their communities.

Let’s continue to raise awareness, promote wellbeing, and empower young people across Europe! 💡💛

🇲🇹 Melodies of Unity | Youth Exchange in Malta ✨️
📅 07–13 October 2025

Seven amazing young people — Alexa, Gabriela, Julia, Julia, Zuzanna, Adrian, and Łukasz — took part in the inspiring “Melodies of Unity” youth exchange in Malta! 🎶🌍

Together with participants from Malta, Greece, Estonia, and Portugal, they explored the theme of music, migration, and European integration. Through creative workshops, cultural evenings, and a powerful migration simulation, they discovered how music can connect people beyond borders and languages. 🫂💫

This exchange was not only about learning and collaboration but also about self-discovery, empathy, and stepping outside one’s comfort zone. 🤍

We are proud of our volunteers for representing our organization and Poland with such passion and openness! 🇵🇱👏

From December 3rd to 10th, Nezavisna udruga mladih hosted Erasmus+ project ToolHub in Oroslavje, Croatia. During this week, 30 amazing participants from Romania, Malta, Spain, Poland, Croatia, Türkiye, and Italy came together to co-create and test innovative tools for youth work.

Thanks to the wonderful support of the local high school and its students, we were able to turn these ideas into reality, experimenting with methods, exploring creativity, and showing once again that young people come up with the best solutions.

The outcome of this creative journey is now available to everyone: a guidebook full of methods and tools developed during the project, ready for youth workers and organizations everywhere to use and adapt.

🇵🇱✨ On 25 April 2025, something special happened in Poland! ✨🇵🇱

We hosted our Multiplier Event for Polish Youth as part of the Erasmus+ project "YES WE CAN – Youth in Entrepreneurship: Socially We Change through Abundant Notions". It was a day full of knowledge, connection, and positive energy!

We welcomed many visitors from Poland – young people, youth workers, and community members. Together, we shared the results of our international project. We talked about our activities, what we have learned, and how we can use these experiences to grow in our own communities.

🗣️ We also had important discussions about entrepreneurship – especially social entrepreneurship. We discussed impact of Erasmus+ on carrier in pursuit of new job or creating new company.

📘 During the event, we presented:

Good practices from our partners in Lithuania, Greece, Malta, and Romania
Stories of youth who started their own projects
Tools and materials created during the project, including our special Social Entrepreneurship Environmental Handbook (SEEH)

We are proud to be part of a European project that supports young people with fewer opportunities, builds skills for the job market, and spreads hope and motivation.

💡 This project is co-funded by European Commission. Project number - 2022-1-PL01-KA220-YOU-000087658. Project is coordinated by Europejskie Forum Młodzieży “Fraternitas” in Poland.
