Looking for a reason to spend your next semester - or maybe your whole gap year - in Poland? 👀
We are currently looking for volunteers to join Horyzont, a local community centre for children and young people in Opole.
📅 When?

6 months, perfect for a winter semester abroad
or
10–12 months - the full ESC “gap year” experience!
✈️ Preferred arrival:
28 September-4 October 2026
or 12-14 October 2026
At Horyzont, you won’t just be watching from the side. We are looking for people with their own ideas and initiative, ready to plan and lead activities, workshops or lessons for children.
Your thing could be arts & crafts, music, sports, theatre, photography, languages, games, English activities or something completely different that you would like to share with the kids. You’ll also work together with the Horyzont team and support activities already happening at the centre.
🇺🇦 Do you speak Ukrainian? We would especially love to hear from you! Many of the children attending the centre are from Ukraine, so knowing Ukrainian is a great advantage for everyday communication and building relationships.
The volunteering schedule is up to 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, mostly in the afternoons after the children finish school.
