Guest Speaker Announcement | JagiMUN 2026

We are honoured to welcome dr hab. Piotr Bajor, Dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies at Jagiellonian University, to the JagiMUN 2026 Opening Ceremony.

Dr. Bajor is a university professor at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations and has held several important academic and administrative roles at Jagiellonian University, including Deputy Director for General and International Affairs of INPiSM from 2020 to 2024.

A graduate of International Relations at Jagiellonian University, he defended his doctoral dissertation with distinction on the foreign policy of independent Ukraine. His academic path has also included international research and academic experience in countries such as Taiwan, Brazil, Georgia, Ukraine, the United States, Australia, China, and South Korea.

His teaching and research focus on international security, Polish foreign policy, Eastern Europe, the post-Soviet area, and the foreign and security policy of

Guest Speaker Announcement | JagiMUN 2026

We are honoured to welcome Dr. Kinga Schlesinger, representative of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Poland, as one of our guest speakers at the JagiMUN 2026 Opening Ceremony.

Dr. Schlesinger is an EU expert, political scientist, and linguist. She graduated in European Studies at Jagiellonian University, Political Science at Civitas University, and Applied Linguistics at the University of Warsaw. She also holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

With many years of experience in the European Commission and the European Parliament, where she held both expert and managerial roles, Dr. Schlesinger now works at the European Parliament Liaison Office in Poland, focusing on communication about the European Union.

During JagiMUN 2026, Dr. Schlesinger will deliver a keynote address on:

“Democracy in Action: How the European Parliament Fosters Civic Engagement of Young People”

Guest Speaker Announcement | JagiMUN 2026

We are honoured to welcome Mr. Martin Gärtner, Consul General of the Republic of Austria in Kraków, as one of our guest speakers at the JagiMUN 2026 Opening Ceremony.

Mr. Gärtner has a distinguished diplomatic career, with extensive experience in European, Middle Eastern, and international affairs. Before taking up his post in Kraków in 2022, he served as Head of the Middle East Department at the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vienna. His previous diplomatic postings include serving as Deputy Ambassador at the Austrian Embassies in Prague, Pretoria, and Tirana, as well as directing the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tel Aviv.

His career has also included work in economic cooperation, press and information, EU Council Working Groups on the Maghreb, Mashreq, the Middle East, and the Gulf, and Austria’s representation in the Union for the Mediterranean.

During JagiMUN 2026, Mr. Gärtner will deliver a keynote address on:

We are honoured to welcome Mr. Cédric Peltier, Consul General of France in Kraków, as one of our guest speakers at the JagiMUN 2026 Opening Ceremony.

Mr. Peltier has extensive diplomatic and consular experience, having served in several international and administrative roles, including in Bratislava, Baghdad, Adelaide, and within the central administration of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Since 2023, he has served as Consul General in Kraków and Deputy Director of the French Institute in Poland, Kraków.

During JagiMUN 2026, Mr. Peltier will deliver a keynote address on:

“Fight against disinformation and the evolution of the communication policy of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs”

We are delighted to welcome him to JagiMUN 2026 and look forward to hearing his insights on diplomacy, communication, and the challenges of disinformation in today’s international environment.

All participants are required to follow a Western business attire dress code throughout the conference. This is strict and mandatory.

Traditional attire is also permitted, as long as it is worn respectfully and appropriately.

Dress the part, represent your country, and bring your best diplomatic presence.
