STOWARZYSZNIE / CROSSROADS Association
Stowarzyszenie ROZSTAJE realizuje międzynarodowe projekty festiwalowe, koncertowe, edukacyjne, fonograficzne i wydawnicze. Akcent programowy przedsięwzięć realizowanych przez Stowarzyszenie Rozstaje to promocja wykonawców kultywujących tradycje wywodzące się z najstarszych źródeł kultury muzycznej oraz artystów, dla których inspiracja muzyką źródeł jest punkt

em wyjścia dla własnej, twórczej interpretacji. Imperatyw działań Stowarzyszenia to aktywność na rzecz tradycji zagrożonych i wspieranie inicjatyw kształtujących postawę tolerancji, integracji, międzykulturowego dialogu i porozumienia na gruncie sztuki.

EtnoKraków/Rozstaje to „flagowy”, wieloletni, międzynarodowy projekt Stowarzyszenia. Jest kontynuacją festiwalu Rozstaje/Crossroads Festival Krakow. Nieprzerwanie od 19 lat festiwal skupia reprezentację najznamienitszych artystów światowej i polskiej sceny etno, world music, folk, etnojazz i muzyki tradycyjnej. Ważnym i stałym elementem festiwalu są warsztaty muzyczne, będące unikalną okazją do propagowania wiedzy w zakresie kultur muzycznych świata, a także wykonywane specjalnie w ramach festiwalu międzynarodowe projekty artystyczne.

ETNOKRAKOW / CROSSROADS is one of the most important project of Crossroads Association. Is one of the biggest world music festivals in Poland and in middle-east part of Europe; an international forum for the most interesting bands from different parts of the world: open-air concerts on the main stage in Kraków’s Main Market Square, chamber concerts, and music workshops in the Festival Club. Confrontation of international and Polish stages of world music, ethno-jazz, and ethno. Meeting and colliding at the Crossroads of are different musical styles and genres: from traditional ones to fusions and experiments bordering on traditional and jazz, folk and rock, and classical music, taking inspiration in traditional motives. Programme of the CROSSROADS Festival is an attractive offer for students, school youth, for Krakow’s citiziens and for international publicity (lots of tourists spending summer in Krakow). Programme of the CROSSROADS Festival is an alternative for the increasing unification of culture. Festival is also dedicated for everybody who is interested in music in its incommercial shape. The project aims at the promotion of the traditional music, world music, ethno and ethnojazz genres - in refer to other european and world cultures and regions and in refer to build tolerance and cultural identity in new modern Europe. The guests of the previous crossroads festivals form a catalogue of stars of the world music stage, artists and bands building the canon of the genre, whose presence becomes an event in the most renowned of the world’s festivals: Dhafer Youssef Quartet (Tunezja / Kanada / USA / Poland), Daniel Binelli (Argentyna) Gheorghe Zamfir (Romania) with Beethoven Academy Orchestra (Poland), Gypsy Queens & Kings (Romania / Serbia / Macedonia / Bulgaria / Hungary / France) – with participation of Esma Redzepova from Macedonia hailed “the Queen of the Gypsies”, Taraf de Haidouks (Romania), Mahala Rai Banda (Romania), Fanfare Ciocarlia (Romania), Kocani Orkestar (Macedonia), Boban Markovic Orkestar (Serbia), Kalyi Jag (Hungary), Marta Sebestyen & Muzsikas (Hungary) Tamara Obrovac & Transhistria Ensemble (Croatia / Italy / Slovenia), Twinkle Brothers (Jamajca), Ivo Papasov and His Wedding Band (Bulgaria / Turkey) the most exquisite duo from Bulgaria: Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov, Sedaa (Mongolia/Iran), Felix Lajko (Hungary), Boris Malkovsky (Izrael) and many others. It would be impossible to quote here the full list of representatives of the Polish world music stage, yet among the most important events, one must not miss mentioning The Cracow Klezmer Band, Jan Karpiel, Vitlod Rek, Olo Walicki, Joanna Słowińska, Jorgos Skolias, Jarosław Bester, The Jorga Quartet, Janusz Prusinowski Trio and the bands as: Trebunie-Tutki, Sarakina, Lautari, Kroke and The Warsaw Village Band.
