Robert Drobniuch i Tomasz Gilewicz pochodzą z Białegostoku, ale przypadkowo spotkali się na warszawskim Powiślu, w szaroburym szynku, którego już nie ma bo... spłonął. Na początku w rozkroku między stolicą a Podlasiem i na wybojach krajowej ósemki, wreszcie na stałe w rodzinnym mieście, do którego importem z Holandii dotarł Juliusz Góral, zasilając szeregi Kolegtywu. łu z założenia łączą kilka dziedzin sztuki: teatr, taniec, video art, rzeźba i malarstwo, czego przykładem są spektakle Fizjotopia, Noc Nadchodzi od wewnątrz, Drzwi zamknięte, plakat sceniczny Tryumphus Curulis czy warsztaty z teatru ruchu Re-kreacja. Grupa celowo wychodzi w przestrzenie pozateatralne - swoje artystyczne projekty realizowała m. w dawnym kinie Syrena, starej Drezynowni, na Węglówce, a nawet... w galerii handlowej. artystyczny

The Kolegtyw Theater (KOLEGTYW = collective + colleagues)
founded in 2008
is Bialystok (Poland) based artist run organisation for the production, research, presentation, distribution of contemporary art and culture with a specific focus on new visual art and practices, theater performances, dance, multimedia. The Kolegtyw Theatre is dedicated to serve a curious and passionate audience by fundamentally changing the way they experience theater. The Kolegtyw Theater produces innovative theater that return to the root of story telling by storytelling through live performance. Robert Drobniuch and Tomasz Gilewicz - both founders of The Kolegtyw Theater - come from Bialystok. They accidentally met in Warsaw Powisle, (in a gray dun bar) where the idea of establishing Kolegtyw Theater arose… Later Juliusz Goral who came back to Poland after years spent in The Hague, The Netherlands, joined Robert and Tomasz. At the very beginning projects for The Kolegtyw Theater were developed by discussions as founders lived in Warsaw. The Kolegtyw Theater focuses on combining many fields of art: theater, dance, video art exemplified, sculpture and painting by performances: Fizjotopia, Noc nadchodzi od wewnatrz (Night is coming from inside), Drzwi zamkniete (No exit), Tryumphus Curulis. The founders believe that visual art can provide experiences that change the way we look at our world and understand ourselves within it. In order to remove the barrier beteween stage and audience and create a community within a shared space, Collective Theater deliberatelly goes out of theater buildings and incorporates other spaces organizing performances in the heart of big shopping malls, old factories, at Weglowka or Drezynownia.
