Our recent session brought together enthusiastic participants to strengthen their understanding of urban planning, community development, and practical architectural skills. Through interactive discussions and hands-on learning, participants are building the knowledge and confidence needed to identify urban challenges and contribute to sustainable community development.

Community Architect Training (CAT) Program, Batch 23

The Community Architect Training (CAT) Program is a practical, youth-focused initiative. The program is designed to equip youth participants with the technical knowledge and field experience required to understand and address urban challenges / issues to develop their neighbourhood using technical skills.

Over the course of this two-month training, participants gain hands-on exposure to:

✔️ Drafting & Sketching
✔️ AutoCAD drafting
✔️ Housing & Green Architecture
✔️ Urban Issues Identification
✔️ Settlement Mapping & GIS
✔️ Practical Field Visits
✔️ Workshop

Through a combination of theory and practical learning, the program empowers young people to draw manual and digital plans, read plans with understanding, and interpret settlement maps. They can document community infrastructure, identify urban issues, and actively contribute to sustainable neighbourhood development.

At Urban Resource Centre (URC) Karachi, URC believe that skilled youth are the foundation of resilient, inclusive, and sustainable neighbourhood.
