Empowering Women Home-Based Workers:
Pahel Pakistan Distributes Essential Toolkits to Graduates of Five-Day Vocational Training in Sukkur and Khairpur.
Pahel Pakistan has reached a significant milestone in the "Catalyzing Economic Growth for Women in Sukkur and Khairpur" project by distributing specialized toolkits to successful participants following their completion of a five-day vocational training program. These artisans, who have now mastered advanced techniques in Applique and Embroidery, were provided with the essential tools needed to transform their skills into sustainable home-based businesses. This distribution marks a key step in a larger mission, as a total of 48 training sessions are being conducted across the region to foster financial independence and economic resilience.
The initiative is implemented by Pahel Pakistan with the technical training expertise of the Indus Craft Foundation, made possible through the generous support of UN Women Pakistan and the Norwegian Embassy Islamabad. By equipping these women with both high-level craftsmanship and the physical resources to produce professional-grade work, we are collectively investing in the long-term prosperity of families across Sukkur and Khairpur. We celebrate the dedication of these participants as they step into their roles as empowered entrepreneurs and key contributors to the local economy. 🇵🇰 🇳🇴

Day 4: Advocacy, Faith & Digital Security
April 8, 2026
The Musical Night, hosted by the Pahel Pakistan team, reached its creative and spiritual peak as participants immersed themselves in a Cultural Night dedicated to the rich heritage of Sindh. The atmosphere shifted from formal advocacy to a soulful celebration of pluralism as the group was treated to the live Sufi Music of traditional singers belonging to the shrine of Budhal Faqeer. This specific choice of music was deeply symbolic; the poetry and melodies associated with Budhal Faqeer—a saint known for his messages of love, peace, and human equality—echoed the very core values of the 4th Participatory Course on Social Action. By listening to these timeless Sufi strains, the young leaders were reminded that their struggle for human rights is deeply rooted in a local tradition of mysticism that has historically challenged division and preached universal brotherhood.
This three-hour session provided more than just entertainment; it offered a profound space for participants to bond through a shared aesthetic experience. As the rhythmic beats and haunting vocals filled the air, the heavy technical discussions of the day gave way to an environment of collective joy and cultural pride. This informal gathering allowed the "theoretical knowledge" of the course to settle into the hearts of the attendees, transforming a diverse group of strangers into a unified community of advocates. The celebration concluded the day on a note of high morale, proving that the journey toward social justice is most sustainable when it is fueled by the beauty of cultural expression and the spiritual resilience found in the Sufi traditions of the soil.

Day 5: 🎓 Graduation Ceremony
April 9, 2026
The concluding session of the 4th Participatory Course on Social Action in Sukkur marked a significant transition for the participants, moving from the absorption of complex human rights theories to the practical application of community-driven social change. The presence of high-profile leaders like SSP Azhar Khan Mughal, Samson Salamat, and Iqbal Ahmed Detho lent the ceremony a sense of institutional weight, signaling to the youth leaders that their role as human rights defenders is recognized by both the state and civil society. This graduation was not merely a formality but a validation of their readiness to act as "change agents" in their respective regions. The distribution of certificates served as a formal commissioning, empowering these young leaders to take the specialized skills they gained—ranging from digital security and constitutional law to combating faith-based discrimination—and implement them through tangible social action projects that address the unique challenges of their communities.
The involvement of Deedar Ahmed Mirani and the Pahel Pakistan team, alongside the leadership of the Centre for Human Rights Education underscored a collaborative model of mentorship that is essential for sustainable activism. By successfully completing this five-day intensive, the participants have joined a broader network of advocates equipped to promote pluralism and hold institutions accountable. The graduation ceremony effectively bridged the gap between learning and leadership, instilling a sense of responsibility in the graduates to use their new-found legal and digital literacy to foster a more inclusive and just society.

Day 4: Advocacy, Faith & Digital Security
April 8, 2026
The 4th Participatory Course on Social Action, held from April 5–9, 2026, in Sukkur, provided a comprehensive platform for youth leaders to transition from theoretical knowledge to community-driven impact.
Samson Salamat’s session delved into the systemic and ideological foundations of faith-based discrimination, identifying it not as a series of isolated incidents but as a product of deep-seated structural inequalities and extremist narratives. By examining the "root causes"—ranging from historical grievances and exclusionary educational curricula to the manipulation of religious identity for political gain—the discussion highlighted how these factors coalesce to dehumanize minority groups. The impact of such violence was framed as a dual tragedy: the immediate physical and psychological trauma inflicted on marginalized communities and the long-term erosion of national social cohesion and pluralistic values.
To combat this, the session pivoted toward proactive prevention strategies, emphasizing that mitigating discrimination requires a synchronized effort across all levels of society. It outlined specific mandates for diverse social actors: the state must ensure the rule of law and legislative protection; educators and religious leaders are tasked with promoting narratives of inclusion and correcting misinterpreted doctrines; and civil society must act as a watchdog to challenge hate speech and provide platforms for interfaith dialogue. Ultimately, the session underscored that sustainable peace is only possible when every stakeholder moves beyond passive tolerance toward an active, shared responsibility for protecting the fundamental rights of all citizens, regardless of their belief system.
