National Coordination Meeting
CTC-Pak Network & Community Development Foundation (CDF Pakistan)
A National Coordination Meeting was organized by the CTC-Pak Network on May 9, 2026, at Faletti's Express, Lahore. The meeting brought together representatives of partner organizations, social sector professionals, public health advocates, and civil society members from different regions of Pakistan to discuss key issues related to to***co control and public health challenges in the country.
Community Development Foundation (CDF Pakistan), being a partner organization of the CTC -Pak Network, participated actively in the meeting. The organization was represented by its Chairman, Abdul Hameed Arain, who shared valuable experiences and community-level observations regarding to***co control awareness and implementation challenges in rural and urban communities.
The primary purpose of the National Coordination Meeting was to review the current situation of to***co consumption in Pakistan, discuss the increasing use of ci******es and other to***co products, and identify practical strategies to strengthen to***co control initiatives across the country.
Participants discussed the growing health risks associated with to***co use, especially among youth and vulnerable communities. It was highlighted that the increasing availability and marketing of to***co products have become a major challenge for public health institutions and social organizations working for community welfare.
The meeting also aimed to strengthen coordination among partner organizations and create a unified strategy for future advocacy, awareness campaigns, and policy implementation efforts.
One of the major discussion topics during the meeting was: “Status of PCL Enforcement in Selected Districts of Punjab and Sindh”
Participants reviewed the current status of to***co control law enforcement in selected districts of Punjab and Sindh provinces. Different organizations shared field experiences, implementation gaps, monitoring challenges, and policy-related concerns faced at the district and community levels.
The session focused on:
Enforcement challenges related to to***co control laws, Availability and accessibility of to***co products among youth, Weak monitoring mechanisms in certain districts, Lack of awareness regarding health risks of to***co consumption
Need for stronger coordination between government departments and civil society organizations, Community-based advocacy and awareness initiatives,Importance of engaging educational institutions and youth groups in to***co prevention activities, Representatives from partner organizations also highlighted the importance of local-level advocacy and the need for sustainable awareness campaigns to discourage smoking and other harmful to***co practices.
Experience Sharing Session, During the coordination meeting, participants from various partner organizations shared their experiences, achievements, and challenges related to to***co control activities in their respective areas.
The Community Development Foundation shared its observations from community engagement activities and emphasized the importance of involving schools, youth, parents, and local stakeholders in awareness efforts. The discussion reflected the importance of grassroots-level mobilization in reducing to***co use and promoting healthier lifestyles.The experience-sharing session created an opportunity for mutual learning and encouraged organizations to adopt innovative and community-driven approaches for future interventions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a comprehensive group discussion session was conducted to develop a future action plan for the year 2026–2027.
Participants collectively discussed potential initiatives and strategic priorities for the upcoming year, including: Expanding to***co control awareness campaigns
Strengthening partnerships among civil society organizations, Increasing youth engagement programs, Promoting school and community-based educational activities, Advocating for stronger implementation of to***co control laws
Enhancing monitoring and reporting mechanisms
Encouraging collaboration with media and public health institutions, Conducting district-level awareness sessions and workshops
The participants agreed that coordinated efforts and continuous engagement with communities are essential to effectively address the growing challenge of to***co consumption in Pakistan.
The National Coordination Meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all participating organizations to continue working together for a healthier and to***co-free society. Participants appreciated the efforts of the CTC-PAK Network for organizing a productive platform for dialogue, collaboration, and strategic planning.
The meeting successfully strengthened communication among partner organizations and provided valuable direction for future to***co control initiatives in Pakistan. Participants expressed hope that joint efforts, community awareness, and stronger policy implementation would contribute significantly toward reducing to***co use and protecting future generations from its harmful effects.
