Introduction:
Public Welfare Society (PWS) is a community Welfare organization working in rural and semi rural areas of District Sahiwal. PWS was established in February 1998 and registered und the voluntary social agencies(R+C) Ordinance 1961.It is an independent , Non profiting, Non- governmental organization rather a group of volunteers ,having a zeal to eradicate poverty, injustice, illiter
acy and infrastructure tribulation from the targeted area. Public Welfare Society working policy is to reach every person in the community according to their accepting capability, living circumstances, nature of social structure and moral values. Public Welfare Society believes that less income is not only the main cause of ever-growing poverty but also the consistence source behind its incensement. Illiteracy prevailing, especially among women, unawareness of the human rights and lack of opportunities and follow of unhealthy old traditions and collectively making the community as well as country conditions alarming day by day .In such conditions ,PWS is organizing the community bringing a gradual change in socio-economic of the target areas. Women Empowerment and Development Sector. Public Welfare Society has established 5 prominent Women Empowerment and Development Centers (WEDCs) in rural areas of Kameer. Our female coordinators discuss as sell a monitor the situation of human rights problems of women harassment issues with the females of the area. The membership of PWDS is increasing day by day. The community honors the guidance provided at these centre. WEDCs are running on self-reliance basis. Women Skill Development Center. Public welfare Society has established a CCB named Allied Citizen Community Board. The Local Government of Sahiwal District has funded for the above mentioned center for Women emancipation of the poverty-stricken women of the community in Kameer town Sahiwal. Education Sector. Public Welfare Society is running 10 non-formal Schools in different bonded place child-labor stricken areas of Kameer. This scheme has worldly been appreciated. It has been attributed as the valuable work in affording to eradicate the child –labor and to attract the poor of the poorest and disadvantaged community towards school environment. The total enrollment in the schools is about 300 students and out of them 60% are girls NF schools are funded by EC/TVO. Human Rights. The Circle of Human rights can not be uncared without awaiting the economic, social and cultural rights among the community .PWS is working from the first day right for the activation, promotion and protection of these rights. PWS puts great emphasis on women and children rights protection and has worked a lot to put ban on various forms of exploitations for the belief of oppressed community groups. Research in Multifold Panorama of Society. Public Welfare Society is busy in carrying research to locate and spotlight various caused of deterioration in social sector development. Wastage of resources at a large scale is so pain full for the people also have desolated themselves for the relief of poor community. Public Welfare Society continues camping research to dugout grim facts about different life as pets. For example a large number of primary/Middle (boys girls) schools in Government sector are non-functional in district Sahiwal/ Pakpattan. Being the only source the closure of schools ahs seized the opportunity of education the children of the locality .It is due to the stickiness of the education department or government apathy. Such a state of affairs reflects loop holes in policy implementations. Similarly many Basic Health Units (BHUs) are also non-functional in the district. PWS has compiled compact and commensurate reports on Primary Education, health, environment and pollution, bonded plus child labor issues to mobilize the community for remonstration and to draw attention public /development agencies towards such discreditable situation in order to transform it.
