🌍 Successful Seminar on “Collective Action for Peace, Interfaith Harmony, Inclusion, and Climate Resilience”

FARZ NGO, with the support of the Christian Study Centre (CSC), successfully organized a seminar titled “Collective Action for Peace, Interfaith Harmony, Inclusion, and Climate Resilience” in Rawalpindi. The event brought together more than 130 participants, including community members, civil society organizations, youth, students, religious leaders, activists, development practitioners, CSC partners, and representatives from diverse communities. Both male and female participants actively engaged in the discussions, making the event a vibrant platform for dialogue and collaboration.

The seminar commenced with a Welcome and Introduction to FARZ NGO by Mr. Atta ur Rehman Qureshi, CEO FARZ NGO, who highlighted the organization's mission and ongoing efforts in community development, peacebuilding, and social inclusion. This was followed by an introduction to the Christian Study Centre (CSC) by Mr. Irfan, who shared CSC’s vision and its contributions toward promoting interfaith understanding and social harmony.

A thought-provoking session on “Interfaith Harmony in the Context of Pakistan” was delivered by Mr. Fayaz Ahmed Ghara, who emphasized the importance of mutual respect, tolerance, and dialogue among diverse faith communities for a peaceful and united Pakistan.

Speaking on “Human Rights in Pakistan,” Advocate Tariq Rajput Jarral discussed the current human rights landscape, legal protections, and the collective responsibility of citizens and institutions to uphold fundamental rights and dignity for all.

The session on “Climate Justice” was presented by Mr. M. Saad from EPA Punjab, Rawalpindi, who highlighted the disproportionate impact of climate change on vulnerable communities and stressed the need for equitable and sustainable environmental policies.

Addressing the topic “Clean Energy, Clean Environment,” Mr. Nadeem Iqbal, CEO of TheNetwork for Consumer Protection in Pakistan, shared insights on renewable energy solutions, consumer awareness, and the critical role of clean energy in achieving environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

The discussion on “Women Empowerment” was led by Mr. Zafar Saleem Bangash, CEO Business Edge Pakistan, who underscored the importance of gender equality, women's leadership, and economic empowerment as essential components of inclusive development.

A special address on “Religious Affairs and Peacebuilding” was delivered by Pir Mujtaba Farooq Gul Badsha Sahib, Sajada Nasheen Darbar-e-Alia Mohra Sharif Rawalpindi, who highlighted the role of religious leaders and institutions in fostering peace, promoting coexistence, and strengthening social cohesion within communities.

The seminar concluded with Closing Remarks by Ms. Fahmeeda Saleem, Project Manager CSC, who thanked all speakers, guests, partners, and participants for their valuable contributions and reaffirmed the collective commitment to advancing peace, inclusion, interfaith harmony, and climate resilience.

The event successfully created a space for meaningful dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among diverse stakeholders. The active participation and constructive discussions demonstrated a shared determination to build more peaceful, inclusive, and climate-resilient communities.
