Day 2, Care for Caregivers A meaningful and refreshing time of learning, reflection, and spiritual renewal for ministry leaders and caregivers.
We were honored to have Rev. Ashkenaz Asif share practical insights and personal experiences on maintaining a healthy work-life balance in ministry, encouraging participants to care for themselves while serving others faithfully.
Mrs. Gul Naushad Edwin led a heartfelt session on the Psalms of Lament, guiding participants through an exercise of writing personal psalms expressing complaint, trust, and hope before God.
Mr. Titus Prince facilitated a peaceful Nature Walk & Meditation session with reflective journaling on the questions:
“Lord, why did You call me?” and “What remains true today?”
The day concluded with Mr. Albert David leading an extended solitude in nature session, meditation on Matthew 11:28–30, and a powerful closing ritual, “Burdens Burning,” symbolizing surrendering our burdens to the Lord.

Day 3 of our Care for Caregivers retreat focused on rediscovering the biblical rhythm of rest and the importance of Sabbath in a life of ministry. In a culture that often glorifies constant activity, pastors were reminded that rest is not a luxury, but a sacred gift from God.

Pastor Azhar Adeel led a deeply insightful teaching on the Biblical Sabbath, drawing from Genesis 2:2–3, Mark 2:27–28, and Luke 5:16. Through these passages, participants reflected on how God Himself modeled rest, how Sabbath was created for humanity’s well-being, and how even Jesus regularly withdrew to quiet places for prayer and renewal. The session challenged pastors to rethink unhealthy patterns of overwork and to embrace rest as an act of obedience, trust, and spiritual dependence on God.

A guided journaling exercise invited participants to honestly reflect on the question: “What false guilt keeps me from resting?” This moment of personal reflection helped pastors identify internal pressures, unrealistic expectations, and feelings of guilt that often prevent them from slowing down and caring for their own souls. The session encouraged participants to release these burdens and embrace God’s invitation into healthy rhythms of work, worship, and rest.

Day 3 reminded us all that true ministry flows not from exhaustion, but from a life rooted in God’s presence, peace, and renewal.

Day 2 of our Care for Caregivers retreat created a sacred space for pastors to gently confront the hidden burdens they often carry in silence. Through Scripture, reflection, prayer, and solitude, participants were invited to bring their stress, anxiety, and emotional weight before God in an atmosphere of grace and restoration.

The day began with a deeply reflective session led by Pastor Insar on Hidden Pastoral Burdens Through Scripture. Drawing from biblical examples, he spoke honestly about the unseen pressures, emotional exhaustion, and spiritual struggles many pastors experience in ministry. Through guided journaling and small group prayer, participants were encouraged to process their stress and anxieties openly, finding comfort in shared experiences and God’s sustaining presence. The session reminded everyone that vulnerability is not weakness, but a pathway to healing and renewal.

This was followed by a meaningful session by Mrs. Gul Naushad Edwin on the Psalms of Lament. She explored how Scripture gives believers permission to express pain, confusion, and sorrow while still holding onto faith and hope. Participants engaged in a powerful exercise where they wrote their own personal psalms of lament—honestly pouring out complaints, expressing trust in God, and declaring hope for the future. The session became a moving reminder that God welcomes our honest prayers and meets us even in seasons of struggle.

Later in the day, Mr. Albert David led pastors into an extended time of solitude in nature and meditation centered on Matthew 11:28–30: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” In the stillness of creation, participants reflected on Christ’s invitation to rest and surrender their heavy loads to Him. The day concluded with a symbolic “Burden Burning” ritual, where pastors released written burdens into the fire as an act of surrender, trust, and spiritual renewal.

Day 2 served as a powerful reminder that healing begins when we honestly bring our burdens before God and allow His presence to restore our weary souls.

Day 1 of our Care for Caregivers retreat set a meaningful and reflective tone, creating space for pastors to reconnect with their calling and inner lives.

The day began with a deeply enriching session led by Mr. Titus Prince, who guided participants through a peaceful nature walk and meditation. Surrounded by creation, pastors were encouraged to slow down, listen, and reflect through journaling prompts such as “Lord, why did you call me?” and “What remains true today?” This session offered a quiet yet powerful opportunity to rediscover purpose and reaffirm God’s enduring truths in their lives.

This was followed by an insightful session from Zorin Elizabeth on the Introduction to Leadership and Christian Coaching. She unpacked the foundations of Christ-centered leadership and highlighted how coaching can empower pastors to lead with clarity, compassion, and intentionality. The session invited participants to see leadership not just as responsibility, but as a transformative journey of guiding others while growing personally.

The day concluded with a thought-provoking session by Sir Rahul Jousha on Introduction to Care for Caregivers, where he shed light on the often unseen and unspoken burdens carried by pastors. Through the Reflective Life Management Wheel Exercise, participants evaluated different areas of their lives, gaining awareness of imbalances and identifying steps toward healthier, more sustainable ministry.
