Amel Fatima from Skardu has successfully completed her PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Virginia, one of the worldβs highly ranked and globally recognized institutions. She specialized in Computer Architecture, a highly advanced and niche field with only a small number of researchers worldwide, and an even smaller representation of women.
Originally from Skardu, she completed her Bachelorβs degree in Computer Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila. She later pursued her Masterβs degree from University at Buffalo on the prestigious Fulbright Program scholarship, graduating with high distinction.
Her research background focuses on GPU architectures, high-performance computing, computer systems, and AI/ML acceleration. During her PhD, she worked on cutting-edge research in GPU and System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures, performance optimization, memory systems, and next-generation computing technologies designed to improve efficiency for artificial intelligence and large
