PRESS RELEASE:
The Attached Department Officers Association (ADOA) strongly condemns the brutal and unjust manner in which the Government has crushed the peaceful protest of the Grand Alliance and the overall discriminatory treatment being meted out to the employees of the attached departments.
It is deeply painful and shameful to witness teachers and professors—who are the true builders of this society—being treated in a barbaric way. The incident of Professor Qadoos Kakar being dragged on the roads and arrested as if he were a hardened criminal is not only heartbreaking but also a clear reflection of the Government’s intolerance, arrogance, and disregard for basic human dignity.
The Government’s actions clearly indicate that attached department employees, including teachers and professors, are being treated as if they are neither employees of the provincial government nor citizens of this country. On one hand, employees of the Secretariat and certain other privileged departments are granted every kind of financial benefit and freedom, while on the other hand, attached department employees are subjected to repression, humiliation, and violence for demanding their legitimate rights.
Such discriminatory and oppressive behavior raises serious questions about the Government’s commitment to justice, equality, and democratic values. It appears that the authorities have either forgotten their responsibility towards the people of this province or believe that public support and votes no longer matter, assuming they can remain in power through other means.
The Attached Department Officers Association once again strongly condemns the inhumane treatment of attached department employees, particularly teachers and professors. ADOA urges the remaining leadership of the Grand Alliance to take note of the fact that peaceful protest has seemingly become impossible in this province. Therefore, we call upon the Grand Alliance leadership to organize a march to Islamabad and stage a sit-in in front of the Parliament House, so that the entire nation can witness how government employees—especially in Balochistan—are being treated for raising their lawful and democratic demands.
ADOA stands firmly with all oppressed employees and will continue to raise its voice against injustice, discrimination, and state brutality until due rights are granted.
