*Human Rights Council of Pakistan – Balochistan*

The Human Rights Council of Pakistan – Balochistan strongly condemns the horrific injustice and violence committed against Ms. Asma Jattak and her family in Khuzdar. We extend our deepest condolences to Ms. Asma Jattak following the brutal murder of her father, Inayatullah Jattak, who was killed merely hours after she issued a public plea seeking protection from known culprits.
The Human Rights Council of Pakistan – Balochistan stands firmly in solidarity with Ms. Asma Jattak during this critical time and reiterates its unwavering support for her safety and her pursuit of justice.
Key Concerns & Demands
Failure of Protection & Immediate Security
It is deeply tragic that an innocent citizen of Balochistan, pleading for her fundamental right to safety, was met with state inaction, culminating in the loss of her father's life. The Government of Balochistan and law enforcement authorities must immediately provide complete physical protection and security to Ms. Asma Jattak and her surviving family members.
End to Impunity & Strict Legal Action
Superficial sympathy and empty assurances are no longer acceptable. The authorities must initiate a transparent, high-level investigation to arrest all perpetrators and accomplices involved in the abduction, harassment, and murder. All responsible parties must be prosecuted under the full force of the law.

Protection of Women's Rights in Balochistan
The escalating incidents of harassment, abduction, and violence against women in the region demand systematic judicial and institutional reform. Protecting women from gender-based violence and illegal intimidation is a non-negotiable responsibility of the state.

The Human Rights Council of Pakistan – Balochistan remains committed to supporting every victim of human rights violations, without discrimination based on race, region, or gender. We demand equal protection under the law, full accountability, and fair standards of living for all citizens.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan expresses its deepest sorrow over the tragic coal mine accident in the Sur Range, Spin Karez, Quetta, which has claimed the lives of several miners while rescue efforts continue for those still trapped. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the safety of all rescue personnel.

This heartbreaking incident is a stark reminder that every worker has the fundamental right to life, dignity, and a safe working environment. No individual should lose their life while earning a livelihood due to preventable safety failures.

We urge the Government of Balochistan and all relevant authorities to take immediate notice of this tragedy, conduct a transparent and impartial investigation, and determine whether any negligence contributed to the incident. Those found responsible should be held accountable in accordance with the law.

We also call for urgent reforms to improve occupational safety in coal mines across the province, including the provision of proper safety equipment, modern rescue tools, regular inspections, effective monitoring, adequate ventilation systems, emergency response mechanisms, and strict enforcement of safety regulations. Protecting the lives of workers must be treated as a national priority.

Press Statement

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) expresses its profound grief and deep concern over the worsening security situation in Balochistan and strongly condemns the brutal killing of innocent daily wage labourers who had travelled from distant areas solely to earn an honest livelihood and support their families.

Every human life is precious and deserves equal protection under the Constitution and the law. Regardless of a person's profession, ethnicity, province, or background, no individual should become a victim of violence. These labourers were ordinary citizens striving to provide for their loved ones, and their tragic loss is a matter of immense sorrow for the entire nation.

The recent wave of violence has caused immense fear and uncertainty throughout Balochistan. From attacks targeting public servants and security personnel to incidents affecting civilians, members of the judiciary, and now innocent labourers who had no connection with the prevailing conflict, the continuing deterioration of law and order is deeply alarming and demands immediate attention.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan urges the Governments of Pakistan and Balochistan, along with all relevant state institutions, to take immediate and effective measures to ensure the safety and security of every resident, worker, and traveller in Balochistan. The protection of human life is a fundamental constitutional and moral responsibility of the State, and all necessary steps should be taken to prevent further loss of innocent lives.

HRCB extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of all those who have lost their lives in these tragic incidents. We pay tribute to the victims and stand in solidarity with their families during this painful time. We also pray for the speedy recovery of all those who have been injured.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan reaffirms its unwavering commitment to justice, human dignity, and the protection of fundamental human rights. We have consistently opposed all forms of unlawful violence, irrespective of the identity of the victims or perpetrators, and will continue to advocate for the protection of every innocent life.

HRCB firmly believes that violence cannot bring lasting peace. We call upon all stakeholders to exercise restraint, uphold the rule of law, and resolve differences through meaningful dialogue and peaceful engagement. Sustainable peace can only be achieved through mutual understanding, respect for human rights, and constructive negotiations rather than continued bloodshed.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan remains committed to supporting every effort that promotes peace, justice, reconciliation, and the protection of the fundamental rights of all people living in Balochistan and throughout Pakistan.

Press Statement

Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) Expresses Deep Concern Over the Deteriorating Security Situation in Balochistan

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) expresses its profound grief and deep concern over the alarming deterioration of the law and order situation across Balochistan. The recent tragic incidents, including the killing of security officials in Ziarat, the attacks resulting in the deaths of innocent civilians in the Hanna area, the brutal killing of travellers near Mastung, and the recent attack in which District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his security guard lost their lives while another judicial officer and others sustained injuries, have left the people of Balochistan in a state of fear and uncertainty.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of all those who have lost their lives and prays for the speedy recovery of those who were injured. Every innocent life lost is a tragedy, and every family affected deserves justice, compassion, and support.

HRCB strongly condemns all acts of violence against civilians, public servants, members of the judiciary, law enforcement personnel, and every individual who has become a victim of this ongoing insecurity. The repeated attacks witnessed over the past several days demonstrate the seriousness of the current situation and the urgent need for effective measures to protect human life.

The recent incidents have shown that not only ordinary citizens but also law enforcement officials and members of the judiciary have become targets of violence. When those entrusted with maintaining law and administering justice are themselves vulnerable, it raises grave concerns regarding the overall security environment and the protection available to the people of Balochistan.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan respectfully urges the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Balochistan to take immediate and effective steps to restore law and order throughout the province. The State has a constitutional and moral responsibility to safeguard the life, liberty, and dignity of every citizen without discrimination. Safe travel on highways and roads, protection of public servants, and security for all residents of Balochistan must be treated as an urgent priority.

HRCB further calls upon the competent authorities to conduct prompt, transparent, and impartial investigations into these incidents, ensure that those responsible are brought before the law through due process, and provide justice to the victims' families. Appropriate compensation and support should also be extended to the families of those who have lost their loved ones and to those who have suffered injuries.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan also appeals to all national and international human rights organizations, civil society organizations, bar associations, social welfare organizations, and defenders of human rights to raise their voices for the protection of the people of Balochistan and to support all lawful efforts aimed at restoring peace, security, and respect for fundamental human rights.

Today, the people of Balochistan are asking a fundamental question: if citizens cannot feel safe while travelling on public roads or even those serving the justice system are not adequately protected, then who will ensure the safety and security guaranteed to every citizen under the Constitution?

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan reiterates its unwavering commitment to the protection of human rights, the rule of law, and the dignity of every individual. HRCB will continue to stand with the innocent people of Balochistan and Pakistan, advocating for justice, accountability, peace, and the protection of every human life.
