Action Society for Water Supply Environment and Development ASWED is a non-profitable, non-governmental, apolitical, multi-sector, rural development organization working for the oppressed and marginalized communities in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It aims to reduce poverty and bring about long lasting changes in their lives by facilitating the process of empowerment and sustainable community deve
lopment. It utilizes the internal and external resources to achieve sustainable improvement in the lives.to empower communities to become the catalysts for transforming there political Sphere in to participatory, pro-people system that is led by accountable transparent dedicated and honest leader ship at every level. We focus on the social and the political uplift of grassroots communities in general and women in particular in the rural and marginalized areas. It pledges itself to up holding human rights and dignity that comes with equality and equity in every aspect of the work it does with the communities and the people it serves. ASWED is based on the principles of mutual respect, gender sensitivity and rights based approach. The main focus of ASWED is on the long term development of the areas of its geographical coverage, but is always active in humanitarian response whenever need arises. Our Concept of development is not limited to education, health, economic development (Livelihoods), Community infrastructure, Protection and equality of human beings and social inclusion but broader. Social Mobilization, Gender mainstreaming and capacity building are always cross cutting themes of all the interventions of ASWED
