ARPD Celebrated Pakistan Independence Day at Its Rehabilitation Center with School Performances, Chief Guests, and Community 🇵🇰🎉🤍

🇵🇰 On the occasion of Pakistan's Independence Day, ARPD held a vibrant celebration at its Rehabilitation Center in Peshawar — bringing together students, staff, persons with disabilities, and distinguished guests in a shared moment of national pride and community spirit.

🤍 Children from the ARPD Inclusive School System brought the stage to life with a beautiful Tilawat and Naat, followed by heartfelt speeches and cultural dances representing the rich provinces of Pakistan 🌈. Members of our PWD Power Group then performed national songs 🎤 — a moving reminder that persons with disabilities are active contributors to community life and culture 💪🏽.

🌟 The chief guests — Ch. Babar Hussain, CEO of Cantonment Board Peshawar, and Shohaib Khan, District Officer, Social Welfare Department — planted a tree in our garden 🌳 and warmly commended ARPD's work and inclusive school system.

🏥 ARPD Conducted a One-Day Rehabilitation Workshop

On 8th August, ARPD held an intensive workshop where 18 participants and 3 facilitators — clinical staff and therapists — gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in rehabilitation care. 🤍

✨ The workshop was led by three distinguished physiotherapists: Dr. Wasiullah, Dr. Ibtesam, and Dr. Rafey, who shared evidence-based approaches to assessment, treatment planning, and patient care. Adding depth to the learning experience, Mr. Waseem Saleem, Project Director ARPD, enriched the workshop with his insightful experience and practical insights 💡. Participants engaged in interactive sessions and live demonstrations, leaving equipped with actionable techniques they can apply directly in their work.

🎨 ARPD Vocational Training Center Empowers Women Through Fabric Painting

At ARPD, we believe every woman deserves the chance to build a future of independence and dignity. Our Vocational Training Center offers marginalized women opportunities to develop practical, marketable skills. As an SDC-registered training provider, we award recognized certificates upon course completion, giving our graduates formal credentials that open doors to employment and entrepreneurship.

As part of this program, we recently conducted a fabric painting class, where students learned everything from basic techniques to intricate traditional designs, turning brush and color into a path toward self-reliance.

Each woman who joins leaves with more than a skill — she leaves with confidence, purpose, and the ability to support herself and her family.

🦾🤍 ARPD Provides Free Inpatient Care & Mobility Device to Waqas

At ARPD, every patient who walks through our doors becomes part of our family. Waqas is the latest example of the life-changing, free-of-cost care we're proud to deliver every day. 🌟

🏥 Waqas came to ARPD following a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), which left him with left-side hemiplegia. He was admitted to our Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center, where our team provided him with dedicated inpatient care, free meals, and accommodation throughout his stay — because dignity and comfort are never optional at ARPD.

🦿 Through our Orthopedic Workshop, Waqas was assessed and fitted with a custom Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO), giving him renewed stability and a path toward a more independent, confident life.

💪🏽 This is what our mission looks like in action — comprehensive, compassionate care that restores not just mobility, but hope. Every patient we serve is a reminder of why we do this work.

🌟💙 ARPD Helps 73-Year-Old Stroke Survivor Walk Again

Retirement should be a time of rest — but for Lazar Masih, a left-sided ischemic stroke changed everything overnight. 🏥 Struggling with weakness, poor coordination, and limited mobility, and managing diabetes and hypertension alongside it, daily life had become a real challenge.

🤲 That's when Lazar found his way to ARPD's Comprehensive Rehabilitation Department. Our physiotherapy and occupational therapy team got to work immediately — combining heat therapy 🔥 for circulation and pain relief, soft tissue therapy for muscle recovery, TENS stimulation, and a structured core-strengthening and mobility program including bridging exercises, hip and knee mobilization, and full range-of-motion work for both his upper and lower limbs.

💪🏽 Since his assessment, Lazar has completed 90 therapy sessions over nearly three months of free, dedicated care — and the transformation has been remarkable. He now walks with a stable, coordinated gait, has regained full muscle power and complete range of motion in all his joints, and performs his daily activities independently again. 🌈

🧡 Stories like Lazar's are why ARPD exists — to restore dignity, independence, and hope to persons with disabilities, completely free of cost. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our supporters.
