🆓⚖️📢 ARPD Hosts PODA's Free Three-Day Mobile Legal Aid Clinic in Peshawar

From 18 to 20 August 2026, ARPD hosted a free, three-day Mobile Legal Aid Clinic at our Rehabilitation Center in Peshawar, delivered by PODA (Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy) in partnership with Noor Mera Ghar (NET), under the Promoting Civic Leadership and Participation project.

⚖️ The three days combined a community-wide awareness campaign with hands-on legal aid. More than 200 people from the surrounding community — women, girls, persons with disabilities, teachers, and students — took part, learning about legal rights and protections that many had never been exposed to before, spanning legal identity documentation 📄, property and inheritance issues 🏡, family matters, disability entitlements ♿, and protection from harassment and violence 🛡️.

💬 Alongside this awareness push, panels of lawyers were on-site throughout the clinic offering free legal consultations and one-on-one sessions, giving individuals the chance to sit down with a lawyer and walk through their own specific concerns in a safe, private setting. Representatives from government and public-service institutions attended as well, connecting attendees directly to the right departments and resources.

ARPD Participated in a Cardiovascular Health and Stroke Awareness Camp for World Physiotherapy Day 2026 💙🫀♻️

🤍 On 5 September 2026, ARPD participated as a guest in a Cardiovascular Health and Stroke Awareness Camp organized by Cantonment Board Peshawar in collaboration with Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) Peshawar, held in observance of World Physiotherapy Day 2026 at Khalid Bin Park, Peshawar Cantt.

🫀 The camp offered diabetes screening, cardiovascular screening, stroke awareness education, physiotherapy-led exercise demonstrations, patient and caregiver education, and a community awareness walk — all in recognition of the vital role physiotherapy plays in heart health and stroke prevention 💪🏽.

♿ A delegation of 45 represented ARPD — including staff, PWD Power Group members, persons with disabilities, and A.I.S.S. students with attendants, interns, and student participants. Our presence reflected ARPD's commitment to public health awareness alongside partner organizations, ensuring that health campaigns reach every segment of society — including persons with disabilities who are often overlooked 🤲.

ARPD Held a Free Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation & Medical Camp on Warsak Road🏥🤲💚

🌟 On 22 August 2026, ARPD successfully organized a Free Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation & Medical Camp on Warsak Road, Gulabad, Peshawar — bringing comprehensive rehabilitation and medical services directly to a community that needed them most. A total of 275 beneficiaries availed free services at the camp 💚.

♿ The camp was open to children, adults, and elderly individuals from the area, and every service was provided completely free of cost — ensuring that distance, financial hardship, or limited resources never stood between community members and the care they deserve.

🏥 On-Site Services Provided:
✅ Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Disability Services
✅ On-Site Assessments and Diagnoses of Disabilities
✅ Physiotherapy Sessions & Family Training for Home Care
✅ Assessments & Referrals for Mobility Devices (Prosthetics/Orthotics)
✅ Referrals to ARPD Rehabilitation Center for Continued Care
✅ Educational Sessions on Disability Awareness & Prevention
✅ Free Medicines and Medical Consultations
✅ Free Ultrasound Facility for Women & Children

🤝 Assistant Commissioner Cantt Syed Basharat Hussain attended the camp and appreciated the work being carried out. The Polio Team of Pawaka — Community Block Officer (CBO), Gul Shahrina, and Union Council Polio Officer (UCPO), Sheraz also supported the camp in collaboration with ARPD, displaying the Polio Programme banner, distributing polio information notebooks, sharing key messages on polio vaccination and eradication, and gifting Polio Programme-branded materials to participants — strengthening community engagement in support of a polio-free Pakistan 💪🏽.

🤍 Days like these remind us why ARPD exists — to reach underserved communities where they are, with compassion, professionalism, and services that change lives. Every assessment conducted, every consultation offered, and every referral made brings someone one step closer to greater independence and dignity 🌟.

♿ For many persons with disabilities, quality rehabilitation remains out of reach — because of cost, distance, or the lack of specialized services nearby.

🏥 At ARPD's Rehabilitation Center, our Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program goes beyond OPD services. We have a 50-bed inpatient ward where patients are admitted for continuous, dedicated care 🛏️.

🦾 Every admitted patient receives a personalized rehabilitation plan — physiotherapy 💪🏽, occupational therapy, speech therapy 🗣️, and psychotherapy 🧠 — delivered by our dedicated therapy teams.

🗣️ ARPD's Speech Therapy Program Is Helping Mohammad Ayan Find His Voice 💙

At ARPD, we believe every child deserves the chance to be heard. 🌟 Mohammad Ayan, a 5 year old student, came to our rehabilitation center for support, and our dedicated speech therapist has been working with him ever since — through listening exercises, speech practice, and language-building activities designed to help him communicate with confidence. 🤍

💚 Speech therapy is one of the many services under ARPD's Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program, alongside physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychological support — all completely free of cost for children and adults with disabilities.

✨ Every session is a step toward independence and dignity. Ayan's progress is a reminder of what's possible when compassion meets consistent care. 🙏🏽
