د پښتو مظلوم شاعر

عبدالحمید بابا پښتو شاعرۍ کښې د نازک خیالۍ بابا آدم دے او د خوشحال خان خټک بابا د پښتونولۍ او د ستر رحمان بابا د تصوفی مکتب فکر نه پس د نازک خیالۍ او باریک بینۍ سبک د پښتنو سره د معارفی کولو اعزاز هم د حمید بابا ته حاصل دے. د متقدمینو نه واخله تر متاخرینو پورې ټول محقیقن او د شعر پوهان په دې یوه خله دی چې پښتو شاعرۍ کښې داولنی نازک خیال او باریک بین شاعر بغیر د څۀ اختلاف نه حمید بابا دے. ټولو متقدمینو او متاخرینو د حمید بابا په نثری توګه هم او په منظوم شکل کښې هم د حمید بابا د کار او زیار نه صرف ستائنه کړې ده بلکه د نازک خیالۍ د سبک دستار ئې هم د حمید بابا په سر کړے دے.
نۀ پوهېږم چې د ننی دور خود ساخته محققينو ته د حمید بابا نه داسې کوم حساسيت دے چې اول خو ئې تذکره ګناه کبیره ګڼی او کۀ بیا ئې چرته ذکر هم کوی نو داسې ځائېږی ته ئې راکوز کړی چرته چې هغه شاعران د حميد بابا نه وړاندې کړی چا چې به خپل ژوند کښې پۀ خپله د حمید بابا د احترام جوګه ګڼلے دے او د حمید بابا احترام ئې کړےهم دے او د هغوی ټولو د کلامونو داخلی شهادتونه د دوی نه پټ هم نۀ دی........

Abdul Hameed Masho Gagar was born in the second half of the 17th century at Mashu Gagar, a small village controlled by the Kudrizi branch of the Mohmand clan, a Pashtun tribe. Hameed travelled to Peshawar, where he undertook his education, and became a priest. At this point, Hameed was a man of considerable stature among intellectuals, and students from a number of surrounding districts came to receive instruction from him.[1]

Hameed's poetry was written primarily in the Pashto language. His poems generally had a moral to them, and were often tinged with tones of contempt for the world and its lack of virtue. The morals of his poems were based on Sufism, as a large proportion of other Muslim poetry was. Hameed's poetry was popular even in Persia, where he was dubbed "Hameed the Hair-splitter". Hameed's major works, Love's Fascination, The King and the Beggar and Pearls and Corals have all been translated into English.[1]

Hameed's exact death date is not known, but it is thought by those in his home village that he died around the year 1732. He died in the same house that he had lived in for most of his life.[1]
