National Influencers Advancing Freedom, Rule of Law, and Responsible Governance.

In a society which prefers beliefs over facts and dogmas over ideas, ‘climate of opinion’ remains murky. Theories are presented which remain devoid of historical context and in the name of policy recommendations only wish lists are presented. In this situation, the battle of ideas can only be won by clear arguments, effective communication and strategic outreach. This battle of ideas is usually fought through think tanks - institutionalized forms of research and communication - which aim at influencing the climate of opinion in the long run for the benefit of the society at large. National Influencers is a similar think tank, established as non-partisan independent entity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - the intellectual capital of Pakistan.

Students for Economic and Social Affairs -SESA, a student initiative of National Influencers, held a book discussion on Dr. Edwin van de Haar’s Human Nature & World Affairs at the Pakistan Study Centre, University of Peshawar.

The session introduced students to key ideas from the book and provided an open space to read, share perspectives, ask questions, and learn from one another. Students actively participated in the discussion, exploring themes related to human nature, cooperation, freedom, society, and everyday interactions. The session reflected SESA’s commitment to creating opportunities for students to engage with meaningful ideas through reading and open dialogue.

National Influencers, through its student initiative Students for Economic and Social Affairs -SESA, launched the Urdu translation of "Human Nature & World Affairs", written by Edwin van de Haar, at the Department of International Relations, University of Peshawar.

The book explores the relationship between 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆, world affairs, international institutions, 𝒘𝒂𝒓, 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆, 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, offering a deeper perspective on the ideas that shape world affairs.

The launch brought together students from different departments for an engaging discussion. Dr. Noor Shah Jahan, joined as chief guest, provided an overview of the book, while SESA leaders facilitated the session and encouraged students to ask questions and exchange perspectives.

For National Influencers, translating important intellectual masterpieces into Urdu is an effort to make knowledge more accessible and expand meaningful intellectual dialogue in Pakistan.
