🏛️ Advancing Rehabilitation Access: NDF President Abid Lashari Meets Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar
NAWABSHAH: Continuing efforts to broaden rehabilitation access across rural Sindh, Mr. Abid Lashari (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), President of the National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan, met with Mr. Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Sindh Minister for Home, Law & Parliamentary Affairs. The discussions centered on expanding initiatives for the rehabilitation, inclusion, and empowerment of persons with disabilities throughout the province.
During the meeting, Mr. Lashari briefed the Provincial Minister on NDF Pakistan’s ongoing, multidisciplinary rehabilitation services for children with intellectual and developmental challenges—including Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and other disabilities. He emphasized NDF's strategic partnership with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, in delivering therapy, special education, and family support services.
🏥 Special Appeal for NDF Rehabilitation Center in Moro
A primary focus of the meeting was Mr. Lashari’s request for support to establish a dedicated NDF Rehabilitation Center in Moro, District Naushahro Feroze.
🤝 Strengthening Government–Civil Society Partnerships
Mr. Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar commended NDF Pakistan's dedicated work and recognized the importance of expanding services to improve dignity, access, and opportunities for vulnerable populations.
Expressing gratitude for the Sindh Government's ongoing commitment to disability rights, Mr. Abid Lashari reaffirmed NDF's mission to ensure that no child with special needs is deprived of care due to poverty, geographical distance, or lack of local infrastructure.
