Would you believe 1 in every 3 children in Pakistan has never set foot in a classroom?

That's not a rumor — it's UNICEF's own data. An estimated 25.1 million children aged 5 to 16 are out of school in Pakistan, giving the country the second-highest number of out-of-school children of any nation on Earth.

At Zubair Khan Trust Model School in Multan, we're working every day to make sure fewer children fall into that number.

Which surprised you more — the 1 in 3, or the fact that we're #2 in the world? Let us know below.

In 1984, a man named Muhammad Zubair Farooq Khan sat beside his son's hospital bed in Multan. His child had retinal cancer. Around him, he saw other fathers — men who had walked for days from villages across southern Punjab — whose children would never get treatment simply because they had no money.
He made a silent promise that day. He would tear down the wall between the sick and the cure.
What you see in this photograph is one chapter of that promise — the historic first balloting of Khan Village Phase 1, Multan — community-building in action, transparent, open, and for the people. 🏘️
Since then, Khan Welfare Service has delivered:
👁️ Free eye surgeries & OPD at Zubair Khan Trust Free Eye Hospital
🏫 Free education to 10,000+ students — not a single rupee charged
🏥 Free medical centres in Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi & DG Khan
🍞 Disaster relief during floods & earthquakes across Punjab
📰 Naway Behbood — 25+ years of community journalism
One man. One promise. Four decades. Thousands of lives changed. 💪🇵🇰
The work continues. Tayyab Bilal Khan — the same child whose illness started all of this — is now leading the next chapter.
👇 Share this if you believe in the power of one person to change a community.

Some people leave this world, but never really leave.

Muhammad Zubair Farooq Khan was one of those people. He spent his life making sure the poor of southern Punjab could see, learn, and heal — free eye hospitals, medical centres, schools — built on nothing but faith, compassion, and sheer will. Thousands of people see the world today because of him. Thousands of children found their future because of him.

We still feel his absence every day. But we also feel his presence in every patient treated, every child taught, every life touched by Khan Welfare Service.

Now his son, Tayyab Bilal Khan, carries what his father built — not as a burden, but as a legacy of love. And we have no doubt he will honour it.

Al-Fatiha 🤲

May Allah fill his grave with light and grant him Jannah. Ameen.
