🏆 A Historic Moment — From Community Struggle to National Recognition Wasaib Sanwaro Manager Director Ghous 🇵🇰✨

Receiving the Prime Minister’s Youth Excellence Award from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, is one of the most meaningful milestones of my journey—not only as an individual, but as a Transgender Community Representative and advocate for equality, dignity, health, education, and human rights.

My journey has been built through years of community work, learning, advocacy, and service. As a UNFPA Youth Advisory Board Member, transgender community representative, transgender teacher in Multan, and principal coordinator working on youth and community development, I have continued to raise awareness and create opportunities in areas including HIV prevention and awareness, GBV, health and rights, education, skills development, social inclusion, and community empowerment.

From working directly with communities to supporting young people through education and skills-based programs, every step has taught me one thing: real change begins when we listen to the people who are often left behind and give them the opportunity to lead.

This award carries a much deeper meaning for me. ❤️

This is not just my award. This is a COMMUNITY AWARD. 🏳️‍⚧️🏆

It represents the courage, resilience, struggles, dreams, and achievements of the Transgender/Khwaja Sira community and all those who continue to work for a more inclusive Pakistan.

Being recognized at the national level as a transgender woman is a powerful and historic moment for me and for the community I proudly represent. I hope this recognition inspires other young transgender people to believe that their identity is not a limitation, their voice matters, and their dreams deserve a place at every table.

I dedicate this achievement to my community, my mentors, colleagues, partners, family, and every person who has supported my journey.

🌍 International Youth Day 2026 | A Seat at the Table — A Voice for the Community 💜

On International Youth Day, I am deeply proud to be part of a historic initiative by UNFPA Pakistan—the establishment of its first-ever Youth Advisory Board (YAB), bringing together 25 young changemakers from across Pakistan. 🇵🇰✨

As a Manager Director of Wasaib Sanwaro, UNFPA Youth Advisory Board Member, and Transgender Community Representative, being selected as one of the 25 young members is not just a personal achievement—it is a moment of immense pride for the community I represent.

This is not just a seat at the table.
This is our table.
This is our voice.
This is our representation. 🏳️‍⚧️💜

For the transgender and marginalized communities, meaningful representation matters. It means bringing our lived experiences, challenges, ideas, and solutions into conversations where decisions about young people, health, rights, inclusion, education, and development are shaped.

I am proud to carry the voice of my community and to work alongside an inspiring group of young leaders from across Pakistan to contribute toward a more inclusive, equitable, healthy, and empowered future.

Young people are not merely beneficiaries of change—they are partners, leaders, advocates, and changemakers.

On this International Youth Day, let’s move from “giving youth a seat” to creating spaces where young people are trusted to lead, influence, and shape the decisions that affect their lives.
