1toAnother is an independent project that was established to help rural Pakistani communities recover from the devastation caused by the 2010 floods. The project was started by brothers Josh, Greg and Philip Lock, and Josh’s brother-in-law, Zeeshan Laaldin. The four traveled to Pakistan in October 2010 for three weeks to directly oversee the application of funds raised. Since then 1toAnother have

been continuing with disaster relief and long-term development work under the direction of Zeeshan LaalDin. 1toAnother is registered as a society in Pakistan and works in development projects intended for the marginalized communities in Multan district.

At 70 years old, Malik M. Shafique has spent much of his life facing poverty while living in a small hut. When cataracts took away the vision in his right eye, even everyday tasks became difficult.

Everything changed when he came to Victoria Memorial Medical Centre (VMMC) for cataract surgery. Thanks to a successful procedure and the compassionate care of our medical team, his sight was restored, bringing back not only his vision but also his hope and confidence.

Today, Malik proudly shares his story with others in his community, encouraging anyone struggling with eye problems to seek treatment at VMMC. Many have followed his recommendation and experienced the same life-changing care.
