To help establish new or strengthen existing community-based organisations which enable equita

ble participation by all members of the community, specially girls and women in activities that promote better health, education, access to basic services and other such relevant processes with the aim of enhancing knowledge, capacity and productivity. Our Guiding Principles

Reach out to bring people together. Do voluntary service — even at the expense of personal convenience. Concentrate on remote areas without modern infrastructure because these areas
deserve the most attention. Work for the most disadvantaged groups. Avoid handouts, except in extreme emergencies or special cases. Use a democratic, participate process. Ensure open, transparent, accountable procedures. Keep accurate financial records that are regularly audited by external,
independent specialists. Prioritize the advancement of women and children while supporting the
betterment of poor and dispossessed men. Co-operate with all other relevant institutions:do not compete with them. Respect traditional knowledge, non – discriminatory values and culture even as
contemporary information and skills are enhanced and exchanged. Transcend all differences of race, caste, gender, religion and language.

Defense Day Celebration – Baanhn Beli, PPAF School, Churio

Defense Day was commemorated with great national spirit and enthusiasm on 20th September 2025 at Union Council Pithapur, Village Churio’s School, established under the collaboration of Baanhn Beli and PPAF. On this occasion, students presented patriotic speeches, national songs, and tableaus to pay rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

This year’s theme was “Marka-e-Haq”, aimed at remembering the everlasting sacrifices made for the defense of the homeland and to renew the pledge for building a stronger, united, and peaceful Pakistan. As a proud partner of PPAF, Baanhn Beli joined this national campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety (MoPA&SS) and Paigham-e-Pakistan.

The event witnessed remarkable community participation, as a large number of villagers, men, women, students, and teachers attended. Distinguished guests included Mr. Nehal, Head Master Middle School Churio, Mr. Sardharo SMC Chairmen, Kanji Mal, Santosh Kumar, Bhagchand teachers from Government schools. In their speeches, they highlighted the significance of national unity, education, and patriotism.

On this occasion, an enrollment and tree plantation campaign was also launched in the village, featuring rallies and community activities. A strong message was conveyed that every child, especially girls, has the right to education and their school enrollment must be ensured.

The celebration not only paid homage to the martyrs of the nation but also raised awareness about the importance of education and reinforced the commitment to building a prosperous, united, and resilient Pakistan.

Defence Day was commemorated with great national spirit and enthusiasm on 5th September 2025 at Wadhan Jo Wandio School, established under the collaboration of Baanhn Beli and PPAF. On this occasion, students presented patriotic speeches, national songs, and tableaus to pay rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Thar has just inaugurated its first-ever Desert Flora Conservation Station in Thar Coal Block II — a milestone to protect the region’s fragile biodiversity from climate change, overgrazing, and unsustainable land use.

SECMC and Thar Foundation have collaborated with IUCN and Baanhn Beli to establish Pakistan's first ever Flora Conservation Station in Thar. Set up under the “Partnership for Biodiversity Conservation in Thar” project, this initiative will serve as a dedicated facility to protect and conserve the unique flora of Thar.

The launch event was graced by Qasim Siraj Soomro (MPA Tharparkar), Amir Iqbal (CEO, SECMC & Thar Foundation), Mahmood Akhtar Cheema (Country Rep, IUCN Pakistan) and Senator (R) Javed Jabbar (Founder, Baanhn Beli), reflecting a strong commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s biodiversity for future generations.

This conservation station will restore rangelands, protect ecosystems, and support local livelihoods — ensuring a greener, sustainable future for Thar!

6th September Defense Day Celebration at Baanhn Beli-PPAF School, Ramey-Jo-Wandio
Ramey-Jo-Wandio school, established under the Baanhn Beli–PPAF initiative, proudly celebrated Defense Day on 4th September 2025 with great enthusiasm and national spirit. The event featured patriotic performances by students, including speeches, national songs, and tableaus that paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.
This year, Defense Day was commemorated under the theme “Marka-e-Haq”, paying tribute to the unparalleled sacrifices made for the defense of our homeland, while also reaffirming our commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive, and united Pakistan. As a proud partner of PPAF, Baanhn Beli joined this national campaign, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety (MoPA&SS) and Paigham-e-Pakistan.
A large number of local villagers, including women and men, participated in the event, showing strong community involvement. The celebration was further honored by the presence of distinguished guests, Mr. Veerji Kolhi, Advisor CM to Sindh, Mr. Sathi Somji Kohli Chairman UC Kasbo, Mr. Mehro Mal Kolhi UC Nagarparkar, Media Activists, Teachers from government and non-governmental institutions,Councilors of District Councils and UCs , who addressed the audience and emphasized the importance of national unity, education, and patriotism.

Nagarparkar: Colourful “Marka-e-Haq” and “Independence Day” Celebrations in UC Pithpur at Village Aasalarri.
A vibrant and dignified ceremony marking the “Marka-e-Haq” and “Independence Day” was held at the Primary School of Aasalarri village, established with the support of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Baanhn Beli. The event was attended by political and social leaders from the area, teachers, respected elders, women, and a large number of students. The atmosphere was filled with patriotic fervor, echoing with chants of “Pakistan Zindabad.”

This year, Independence Day was celebrated under the theme “Marka-e-Haq”, aiming to pay tribute to the unparalleled sacrifices made for freedom and to highlight the ongoing efforts to build a strong, inclusive, and united Pakistan. As a PPAF partner organization, Baanhn Beli expressed pride in joining this national campaign alongside the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety (MoPA&SS) and Paigham-e-Pakistan. The event was part of over 1,300 ceremonies organized nationwide by civil society organizations to not only honor the country’s heritage but also to shed light on collective action for the uplift of underprivileged communities.

Special guests included Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Mr. Veerji Mal Kohli, Mr. Pehlaj Kohli, Chairman UC Pithapur, Mr. Muhbato Mal Vice Chermain UC Kasbo along with various political and social figures. The school building was adorned with national flags and colourful buntings, while children dressed in green and white symbolised their love for the homeland.

The programme began with recitation from the Holy Quran and Naat in praise of the Prophet ﷺ, followed by emotional speeches, national songs, and beautifully choreographed tableaux depicting significant moments from the freedom movement. In the sports segment, children enthusiastically took part in races, tug-of-war, and other competitive games, receiving great applause from the audience.

Addressing the gathering, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Mr. Veerji Mal Kohli said that Independence Day reminds us of the sacrifices made by brave individuals who gave their lives for the country. He urged the youth to contribute to the nation’s progress through hard work, honesty, and education, and congratulated the school administration and Baanhn Beli and PPAF for the excellent arrangements.

Mr. Pehlaj Kohli, Chairman UC Pithapur, praised the patriotism and enthusiasm of the children, stating that education is the key to success and the driving force behind a country’s development. He added that such activities not only build confidence in children but also deepen their love for history and their homeland.

Participants emphasized the need for regular educational and national events in the village to instill awareness and patriotism in the younger generation. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem, prayers for Pakistan’s peace and prosperity, and a tree plantation drive under the “Spread Education, Build the Nation” enrolment campaign. This was followed by a traditional Thari bullock cart rally, during which parents were specially urged to ensure the education of their daughters.

On 12th August 2025, a colorful and graceful ceremony to mark the “Marka-e-Haq” and “Independence Day” was organized at the Primary School in UC Kasbo, Village LakarKhadiyo, established with the support of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Baanhn Beli. The event was attended by local political and social leaders, teachers, elders, women, and a large number of students, with the atmosphere filled with patriotic zeal and resounding chants of “Pakistan Zindabad.”
This year’s Independence Day was celebrated under the theme “Marka-e-Haq” to pay homage to the sacrifices that won our freedom, while also recognizing the continuing struggle to build a more inclusive, resilient, and united Pakistan. As a partner of PPAF, Baanhn Beli expressed pride in contributing to this nationwide campaign, jointly led with the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety (MoPA&SS) and Paigham-e-Pakistan. This program was part of over 1,300 events held across the country by civil society partners, aimed at honoring our heritage and demonstrating the power of collective action in uplifting marginalized communities. ننگرپارڪر جهڙن پٺتي پيل علائقن مان شاگردن جو ايتري قدر قومي شعور سان ڀرپور هئڻ اعزاز جهڙي ڳالهه آهي. يوُمِِ تڪبير جي تقريب ثابت ڪري ٿي ته حب الوطني جي لهر هر ڪنڊ ڪڙڇ تائين پهتل آهي. تعليم ۽ قومي سڃاڻپ جو ميلو، اسان جي نوجوان نسل لاءِ هڪ اميد جو روشن ڏِيئو آهي."
