Child abuse is said to have occurred when a parent or caregiver, whether through action or neglect, causes:

>Injury
>Death,
>Emotional harm
or
>Risk of serious harm to a child. There are many forms of child maltreatment, including neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation and emotional abuse. Today, it has become one of the worst plagues of our times. For example, in a country as dev

eloped as the U.S, 1520 children died in 2013 from child abuse alone -- and these are only the reported cases. The ones who survived are no better than the ones who have sadly left us. Abused children will never be able to become healthy and productive citizens of the society and unless helped, will forever be haunted by the ghosts of the past, or worse, become abusers themselves! But do you know that 90% of child abuse is PREVENTABLE? Children can not stop this abuse. But WE can. "WE CAN" happens to be the very motto which has inspired the name of this student society:

"VCAN" i.e "Voices for Children's Aspirations & Needs". Come join us and help us stop the monstrosity of child abuse, because there is nothing more outrageous than standing by and watching the most innocent and vulnerable members of our society be hurt, abused and exploited by the very people they blindly trust. If you don't take action right now,

"The consequences of your denial will be with you for a long time and will be passed down to the next generation"
