AFIGP ELECTIONS 2026
The President AFIGP, in a letter dated 17 July 2025, nominated Kamal Uddin Tipu to supervise AFIGP Elections 2026. The Executive Committee had already approved this in a meeting held on 12 July 2025. Qudratullah Khan and Sultan Azam Temuri were later nominated as members of the Elections Committee.
Nominations for the posts of President, Vice President and General Secretary were solicited on December 12, 2025 for Elections to be held on January 10, 2026, through WhatsApp AFIGP Broadcast group message. The deadline to submit nominations was given as January 2, 2026.
A reminder was issued to all members on December 30, 2025.
In response to this following nominations were received:

General Secretary 23
The nominations were scrutinized.
Since most of the members being nominated were not aware of their nominations, their willingness was sought. Responses were received in writing and through WhatsApp communication. None of the nominated candidates consented to contest the elections for the post of President except Dr Shoaib Suddle. The Election Committee declared Dr Shoaib Suddle elected unopposed.
All nominated for the post of Vice President did not consent to contest Elections except Dr Tariq Masood Yasin. Dr Tariq Masood Yasin was declared elected unopposed by the Election Committee.
Two candidates Dr Syed Kaleem Imam and Amjad Javed Saleemi consented to contest elections for the post of General Secretary. All the rest withdrew their nominations.
Nominations of Election Committee Member were not considered being ineligible to contest the Elections.
Two members were nominated who had recently been elected as Presidents of KP and Baluchistan.
Following message was conveyed to them:
"AoA
Sir,
Your nomination for the executive post of AFIGP cannot be accepted as you are already member of AFIGP Executive by virtue of you being President AFIGP Balouchistan(/KP).
Regards"
President AFIGP Balouchistan agreed with the above decision by the Election Committee.
President AFIGP KP did not agree with this decision and questioned the legality of decision of the Election Committee.
The matter was deliberated upon and
all the above three nominated officers were declared "not eligible" to contest the Elections.
The Ballot was prepared on Google forms and all members were sent the ballots on January 9, 2026 at 1:00 pm by WhatsApp Broadcast. The polling time ended at 5 pm January 10, 2026. A total of 81 members cast their votes for the post of General Secretary. Amjad Javed Saleemi got 12 votes (14.8%) and Dr Syed Kaleem Imam secured 68 votes(84%). One vote was blank.
Dr Syed Kaleem Imam was declared elected for the post of General Secretary.
