Court Update – Maria Shahbaz Case

On 24 July 2026, the Federal Constitutional Court, Islamabad, heard the Maria Shahbaz case.

During the proceedings, the Court admitted to hearing the application filed by Christians' True Spirit (CTS) (application of 110) with the main review petition filed by Shahbaz Masih (victim's father).

The Court also issued notices to the Advocate General, the Attorney General, and the respondent/accused party, directing them to appear and respond at the next hearing before the Federal Constitutional Court in Islamabad

The matter will now proceed at the next scheduled hearing after responses are received from the notified parties.

CTS was honored to welcome His Excellency Indryas Rehmat bishop of the Faisalabad Diocese at our office. The visit began with a warm welcome and a bouquet presentation by the CTS team.
During the visit, Ms. Katherine Sapna shared an overview of CTS' work and its mission. The staff members shared updates on ongoing progress, including shelter services for survivors, updates on legal cases, overall CTS activities, newsletter, and the annual report 2025 was presented.
The Bishop appreciated the dedicated efforts of the CTS team in serving vulnerable individuals and encouraged them to keep continue their valuable work with more compassion and commitment.

Alishba Nazir, a 17-year-old, a mentally challenged resident of Sahiwal, was r***d by a neighbor and got pregnant. She belongs to a poor family struggling with multiple hardships. Her mother died, her father is paralyzed, and her elder sister is mentally and physically challenged. She has four siblings, including one brother, a 14-year-old who works in a brick factory to win the bread and butter for the family.
Christians’ True Spirit – CTS was informed about the incident by the local Christians who approached CTS for legal and financial assistance for Alishba and her family.
A case FIR has been registered, the accused is arrested, CTS team is taking care of all expenses of legal assistance, medical, and bfood expenses of the distressed family.
On June 05, 2026 CTS team visited the family for a follow-up. CTS stands with Alishba and her family, committed to supporting them through justice and recovery.

As part of the One-Day Women's Educational Seminar organized by Christian True Spirit (CTS) on 5 June 2026 at Grace Bible Church, participants actively engaged in a series of interactive activities designed to promote confidence, leadership, and community participation.
Through the Handprint Activity, women reflected on their unique strengths and contributions to society. The handprints symbolized their identity, resilience, and important role within their families and communities.
Participants also took part in a Balloon Activity, which emphasized teamwork, mutual support, and the importance of uplifting others. The activity encouraged women to work together, build meaningful connections, and understand that strong communities are built when individuals support one another.
These engaging activities enhanced participants' confidence, encouraged active participation, and reinforced the message that women are powerful contributors to community development and social change.

On 5 June 2026, Christian True Spirit (CTS) organized a One-Day Women Educational Seminar at Grace Bible Church to empower women through awareness, education, and leadership development.
The program began with an introduction to CTS by Ms. Sukaina Javed, who shared the organization's mission and its commitment to serving vulnerable communities. During the seminar, Ms. Rama Khokhar facilitated an awareness session on Violence Against Women and Protection Mechanisms, highlighting women's rights, available legal protections, and support systems. The main session was conducted by Ms. Katherine Sapna, Executive Director of CTS, on Women Leadership and Community Participation. Drawing inspiration from Esther 4:14, she encouraged women to recognize their God-given purpose, build confidence, and become active leaders within their families and communities.
The seminar provided a valuable platform for learning, discussion, and inspiration, empowering participants to become positive agents of change in society.
