Today, to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day, the Global Shapers Lahore Hub through our ClimACT: Young Leaders for a Sustainable Future initiative partnered with the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan to make a tangible commitment to Lahore’s environment.

Instead of just celebrating, we took direct climate action at Griffin Ground. The energy was incredible, over 100 native saplings were planted, focusing specifically on indigenous species to maximize urban cooling, water efficiency, and local biodiversity. We were joined by an inspiring intergenerational crowd of nearly 100 people ranging from ages 8 to 60. We were especially inspired by the huge turnout of children who showed up eager to dig, plant, and take ownership of their city’s future.

Real independence is securing our shared future and today, we laid down the roots for a cooler, healthier, and more resilient city. This is just the beginning of reclaiming Lahore’s green canopy

🏸 The lessons that shape your future aren’t always taught in a classroom.

As part of our commitment to empowering young people, we recently hosted “From Courts to Career”—an interactive session highlighting how sports and extracurricular activities help shape confident, resilient, and future-ready individuals.

Through engaging activities and real-life conversations, students discovered that the true value of sports goes far beyond winning. They explored how discipline, teamwork, resilience, leadership, and self-belief are the same qualities that pave the way for success in education, careers, and life.

Whether it’s on the court, in a debate competition, on stage, or through community service—every experience outside the classroom is preparing young people for the challenges ahead.

Because the goal isn’t just to create better athletes. It’s to build better leaders.

The future belongs to those who are willing to start.

“No one is too small to make a difference”

As part of the ClimACT: Young Leaders for a Sustainable Future series, Saba and Hamna recently conducted an interactive climate education workshop at Falah Foundation, an NGO-run school committed to inclusive education.

Organized in collaboration between Global Shapers Lahore Hub and Citadel, the session encouraged young learners to explore climate change through engaging discussions and hands-on activities.

The highlight of the day was watching these brilliant young minds transform everyday waste into beautiful works of art during our “Climate Superheroes in Training” session. Their curiosity, energy, and raw creativity proved that when it comes to climate action, enthusiasm shines brighter than any challenge.

These students also shared thoughtful ideas on reducing their environmental footprint, and reflected on the growing impacts of climate change in Pakistan.

This session was a powerful reminder that future of climate leadership is inclusive, and it is incredibly bright.

💰 Money matters—and so does learning how to manage it.

This week, we had the privilege of conducting Money Matters, a financial literacy workshop for students from Grades 5–10, equipping them with essential life skills that go far beyond the classroom.

From understanding the difference between needs and wants to learning about saving, budgeting, smart spending, financial goals, and responsible decision-making, these young minds took their first steps toward becoming financially confident individuals.

A heartfelt thank you to every student for their curiosity, enthusiasm, and participation. The future becomes brighter when we empower the next generation with knowledge that lasts a lifetime.

Because financial literacy isn’t just about money—it’s about making better choices. 🌱

Day 2 at FALAAH Foundation 🚀

Every day this week, Lahore Hub is bringing hands-on learning experiences to the incredible students of FALAAH Foundation in collaboration with Islamabad Hub and Citadel.

Today’s session was led by Hafiz Saad Tanvir , who introduced students to the world of digital skills and the opportunities waiting for them in the digital age. From understanding the digital economy and exploring different online career paths to discovering beginner-friendly skills like graphic design, video editing, coding, writing, and AI, the session encouraged students to think beyond the classroom.

One of the most valuable takeaways was learning that success online isn’t just about earning—it’s about building skills, staying safe, and preparing for the future.

Watching these young minds engage with curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, and imagine what’s possible with technology reminded us why initiatives like these matter. More inspiring sessions are on the way!

Every day this week, Lahore Hub is running sessions on different topics for the incredible kids at Falah Foundation, in collaboration with Islamabad Hub and Citadel.
A huge thank you to Islamabad Hub for partnering with us on this initiative. Their support made this collaboration possible.
Falah Foundation runs an inclusive model where abled and differently abled children learn together in the same classroom. That single choice changes everything. These kids grow up knowing they belong, and that belonging becomes the confidence they carry into the real world.
Day one kicked off with Nouman / نعمان on Introduction to Digital Tools and Technologies. He walked students through Canva, teaching them to design logos and posters, and showed them how these skills can actually earn them money.
Watching these kids create, ask questions, and light up at the idea of building something of their own was the best part of the day. More sessions coming this week.
