Different in faith, united in humanity 🤝🏽

On National Minorities Day, we celebrate the diversity that makes Pakistan what it is. We may be Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and followers of many other faiths, but beneath every difference is something we all share: we are human.

Our beliefs may differ, our traditions may vary, and our cultures may be unique, but dignity, equality, respect, and belonging are rights that belong to us all.

Let’s build a Pakistan where diversity is not just tolerated, but valued. Where every person can live with dignity, practice their faith freely, and feel that they truly belong 🇵🇰

🌱 5,000 trees. 2 public parks. One community-driven movement.

From April to May 2026, Bargad, in partnership with FAST Cables, worked alongside PHA, the Forest Department and EPA to plant 5,000 indigenous trees across two public parks in Lahore.

But this campaign was about more than planting trees 🌳

Through Bargad’s Local Peace Structures (LPS), multi-faith community networks created under the Faith in Action Project, communities took ownership of their parks — forming Park Committees, arranging irrigation, advocating for regular cleaning, and mobilising additional infrastructure support from PHA.

In Ghazi Abbas Park, a Muslim and Christian community came together to make environmental action a shared responsibility — showing how caring for our environment can also bring communities closer.

With 100+ people at the inauguration and 5+ institutional partners engaged, the campaign leaves behind more than newly planted trees: it leaves stronger communities, greener public spaces, and a foundation for continued action. 🌿

Because a greener Lahore is not just about planting trees. It’s about growing communities that care enough to protect them.

🌍✨ Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.
On International Youth Day 2026, GROW UP brought young people together under this year’s theme to spark meaningful conversations, exchange ideas, and build connections for a more inclusive future.
We were proud to have participants from the Youth Mental Health Network (YMHN)—a project titled “Building the Ecosystem of Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing in Pakistan,” implemented across three provinces by Bargad in collaboration with the British Asian Trust—join the event and actively contribute to the dialogue.
🎤 Rasheed and Abdullah took the stage as panellists, sharing their perspectives and experiences, while Javeria brought the conversation together as a moderator.
🤝 Beyond the discussions, the event created space for young people to connect, exchange ideas, and build new linkages with GrowUp.
Because while our contexts may be different, our aspirations for a healthier, more connected, and empowered future are common. 💙

Our 2nd-place winner for the reel competition, kashmala waseem, took a creative and innovative approach to this year’s International Youth Day theme by using AI to bring her vision to life 🎥💚

As AI continues to shape the future, learning to use these emerging technologies creatively is becoming an important part of how young people express themselves, tell stories and engage with the world around them.

What made this reel stand out was its creativity, diversity and strong connection to the theme. From exploring different perspectives to showcasing the many ways young people can contribute to society, the reel captures the diversity and potential of youth in a truly unique way 🌍✨

A powerful reminder that the future belongs to young people who are not afraid to innovate, experiment and imagine new possibilities. 💫
