Team Professionals champions integrity, inclusivity, capacity building, and a shared vision for the future. About the Professionals Forum
The Professionals Forum was established in 2006 by five CMAs in Lahore with a shared commitment to enhancing the role and recognition of Chartered Management Accountants (CMAs) in Pakistan and globally Their mission was to strengthen the profession through capa
city building, alignment with emerging global and local challenges, and comprehensive support for CMAs in terms of knowledge sharing, training, and career development. From its inception, the Forum focused on key areas including learning, trainings, CPD, research and development, technical support for members and businesses, practice development, promotion of corporate relations to elevate the profession’s standing, and advocating for the legal rights and professional inclusion of CMAs in institutional and industry processes. The founding members emphasized inclusivity, ensuring active member participation in all initiatives and supporting infrastructure development for the profession’s institutional growth. In 2009, the Forum expanded its footprint to the national level and, by 2013, established overseas chapters in major countries, connecting Pakistani CMAs with international markets and opportunities. A major milestone was the launch of a 9-point agenda in 2008 for the improvement of the profession, which received an overwhelming response from the CMA community and was successfully transformed into tangible reforms and initiatives. Building on this momentum, the Forum has now developed a forward-looking Vision 2040, aiming to address the emerging challenges of the digital era. Under Vision 2040, Team Professionals is actively exploring global consulting opportunities for members, enhancing their skill sets in the age of artificial intelligence (AI), and expanding their strategic role in both industry and government. The focus remains on ensuring that CMAs stay relevant, future-ready, and well-positioned to lead in a rapidly evolving business environment. Today, the core team of the Professionals Forum comprises over 200 active members spread across various regions, with a global support network of more than 5,000 professionals. Their collective strength continues to drive innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in the profession. Alongside its professional initiatives, the Forum also offers its members valuable opportunities for social enrichment, business development, and meaningful networking. Inspired by the success of the Professionals Forum, some members, who were initially not proponents of collective efforts, attempted to establish similar forums following the same model. However, these efforts did not achieve lasting success, primarily because personal interests were prioritized over the collective good. Despite facing such challenges, the Professionals Forum continues to thrive due to its inclusive and selfless approach, consistently offering leadership opportunities to new members and encouraging them to contribute to the profession. While some individuals have attempted to benefit personally from the platform, the core spirit of the Forum remains rooted in mutual support, sacrifice, and commitment to a shared cause. This enduring spirit has earned the Forum unmatched respect, continued support, and a firm mandate from the CMA community. It is important to highlight that the objective of the Professionals Forum has never been to seek elected positions or titles within the CMA community. Instead, the Forum believes in presenting its team members openly to the community, allowing them to be evaluated, judged, and compared on merit. The community is then free to decide whether Team Professionals holds a stronger capacity, credibility, contribution, and vision compared to any other group. The core purpose is to provide the community with a genuine choice, not to impose leadership. Another unique trait of this team is that they never pursue individual recognition or support; their message is simple and principled:
"If you wish to support, support the Team Professionals as a whole; if not, I step aside, as I cannot contribute without a collective mandate." This spirit of team over self has become a hallmark of the Professional Forum’s integrity and continues to inspire confidence and unity within the CMA fraternity.
