Floods don't just damage homes. They can contaminate the water your family drinks.
Cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis A & E can spread through contaminated water and food, especially when sewage mixes with drinking water during floods.
Protect your water:
• Boil or chlorinate it
• Use sealed or bottled water when available
• Wash your hands with soap
• Avoid unhygienic food
• Seek care quickly for severe watery diarrhoea or dehydration
