Meeting the alumni of Youth Parliament Pakistan’s first batch (2007-2008) brought back memories of our journey in civic engagement. It was a poignant reminder of the impact this platform has had, and continue to have, on young people. On the International Day for Countering Hate Speech, we reaffirm a commitment that extends far beyond a single day. Through the 18th Youth Parliament Pakistan®, PILDAT has engaged more than 300 young people from across the country in a series of three dedicated sessions that tackled hate speech, disinformation, misinformation and fake news. These sessions, guided by panels of experts, aimed not only to educate but to empower. The goal is to equip Pakistan’s youth with the tools to critically engage with digital narratives and to stand firm against the normalization of hate online and offline.
