An entirely student run project, it started work during the last academic year. Training of LUMS staff continued through last year, and those attending classes were, initially, taught basics of both spoken and written English. This year we plan to expand the project considerably both in terms of scope and number of staff members. We have decided to improve upon the areas of instruction; the earlier
focus on basic spoken and written English has been expanded to include basic computing skills (for those reasonably proficient in English) and, possibly, basic Math training. Because through this project not only do we 'teach' them a discipline, we ensure that the knowledge that we impart makes a difference in their lives. We can help the staff members to become eligible candidates for office promotions from a peon to receptionist, to make a better living; for a firm, such employees save time, effort, and money by being able to perform better than others. WHERE? LAB-4
WHEN? We hold weekly hour-long sessions every Friday, from 5.30 to 6.30 pm and Saturdays 10-12 pm
SO come join us in making this project a success and on top of that making a difference in people's lives. =)
