This July, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) delivered a landmark advisory opinion.
Unanimously, they ruled that countries have a legal obligation to prevent harm to the climate and to protect future generations from climate change.
The outcome of over six years of activism, initiated by 27 young law students from the Pacific, the decision opens up new channels of action for the millions living on the frontlines of climate change.
To explore what the ICJ ruling means for the Commonwealth, join us for a special event on 14 October.
