📢 Great News for GCU!

Syed Babar Ali Foundation has established 13 new Golden Scholarships by donating Rs.13.000 million to the GCU Endowment Fund Trust today. 💛🎓

Mr. Muhammad Awais Jawaid, Deputy Controller of Accounts, Packages Limited presented the cheque to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor, GC University Lahore.

With this generous contribution, the total number of Golden Scholarships donated by the Foundation now stands at 26.

The Vice Chancellor expressed heartfelt gratitude to Syed Babar Ali, an eminent Old Ravian, for his continued support and commitment to empowering future generations. 🌟📚

The 30th meeting of the Executive Committee of GCU Endowment Fund Trust was held today in the Syndicate Room, GC University Lahore. The meeting was convened by Mr. Iqbal Z. Ahmed, President Executive Committee, and attended by esteemed members Dr. Parvez Hassan, Mian Misbah ur Rahman, Mr. Shahid Kardar, and Prof. Dr. Babar Aziz.

Mr. Abid Shahzad Aslam, Secretary of the Committee and the Trust, presented the annual progress report for FY 2024-25. The Trust raised an impressive Rs. 60 million the highest ever in its history and disbursed Rs. 67 million in financial aid to deserving students, setting a new record.

The total Endowment Fund now stands at Rs. 817 million. Members appreciated the Vice Chancellor and Secretary for their outstanding management and expressed satisfaction over the overall performance of the Trust.

May 29, 2025 — Mr. Hassan Malik, an eminent Old Ravian and Member of the Provincial Assembly, has generously donated Rs. 1 million to the GC University Lahore (GCU) Endowment Fund Trust under the prestigious Golden Scholarship scheme. This marks the third Golden Scholarship contribution made by Mr. Malik to his alma mater.

Mr. Malik presented the cheque of Rs. 1 million to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Ch. The Vice Chancellor lauded Mr. Malik’s continued commitment to the cause of education and his enduring connection with the University.

Such acts of generosity by our distinguished alumni like Mr. Hassan Malik is instrumental in supporting bright and deserving students who face financial constraints,” said Prof. Dr. Omer Ch. “His contributions have now enabled three students to receive scholarships covering their tuition, hostel fees.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Imran Ul Ikram, Vice President of Nikai Group, Saudi Arabia, for his generous donation of Rs. 1,000,000/- to the GCU Endowment Fund Trust in memory of his late brother, Irfan Ul Ikram Sheikh.

Irfan Ul Ikram Sheikh (Late), who passed away just four days ago, dedicated his life to hard work as a laborer, having been unable to pursue an education due to financial constraints. In recognition of his perseverance and sacrifices, Mr. Imran Ul Ikram Sheikh (his younger brother) & Mrs. Zahida Shakir Sheikh (his mother like aunt) has initiated a in his name, ensuring that deserving students will receive full financial support for their education in perpetuity.
