Fankaar in Focus | فنکار اِن فوکس

Every artist has a way of seeing the world, a language of their own, and a practice shaped by experience, curiosity and imagination.

We are excited to announce this new intitative by DNA, where the platform is created to bring artists and audiences closer through art, conversation and making. Throughout the year, we invite artists to share their practices, lead workshops and create opportunities for others to learn, explore and experience art in new ways.

Because when an artist shares their practice, it becomes more than a work of art. It becomes an invitation to look, question, make and see differently.

Our first Fankaar in Focus is Fajar Falak fajr falak 🌼
She is an artist and an origami expert, who will be conducting a workshop in collaboration with DNA at Bluebird Arts Studio this month. Don't forget to book your tickets via the link in bio.

In our Polymer Clay Jewellery Making Workshop, you’ll learn how to turn simple shapes and everyday forms into your own funky, wearable pieces. Experiment with bottle caps, squares, organic shapes, or go completely abstract!

You’ll explore fun clay techniques like blending, coiling, marbling, layering and texturing, and learn how to use clay modelling tools to create endless shapes and details.

No need to follow a fixed design, play with the clay, mix colours, create textures and make jewellery that feels like you. 🌀

Bring your friends and spend an afternoon making something you can actually wear after.

🕓 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Submissions Now Open!

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the 13th Art for Change (AFC), continuing a journey of creativity, imagination, and change with young artists across Pakistan and beyond.

This year's themes are

My Roots, My Identity
Inviting students to explore the people, places, traditions, stories, and cultures that shape who they are. Through art, they can share what connects them to their roots and what makes their identity unique.

My Water, My Responsibility
Inviting students to explore the importance of water in their lives and communities, and to imagine the many ways we can value, protect, and conserve it. Through art, they can share their relationship with water and their vision for a water-secure future.

For 13 years, AFC has created a space where children and young people can use art to express their ideas, explore the world around them, and imagine a better future. 🌍✨

The 13th edition begins now. Are you ready to create change through art?
