This group is focused on issues relating to separated / divorced families that are going through child custody litigation in family/guardian courts of Pakistan. In almost all such cases, children are handed over to one to the parents (the custodian). The other parent (non-custodian) is practically deprived of meeting his/ her own children. Currently, the courts usually allow non-custodial parent t
o meet his/her own child(ren) ONCE A MONTH for TWO HOURS within the court premises. Even this could be avoided by simply presenting a false medical certificate. There are thousands of children deprived of meeting one of their parents due to such court orders. There are many mothers / fathers who have not even seen their children for literally over years. This is all because of our guardian courts being too casual and in many cases failing to implement custody laws. We, as a group, shall initiate a collective effort to make this process less-painful for the children and parents by constituting a focused campaign to reform "Custody Laws" being practiced in Pakistan.
