BIOGRAPHY OF DIGNIFIED AHMED RAZA KHAN QADIRI BRELEWI ( Mercy of Allah be upon him! )
Birth:
His auspicious birth took place on 10th of month of Shawal in 1274 A.H, 14th Jun,1856. at Breley ( U.P. India ), Aa.la Hazrat Ahmed Raza Khan ( may Allah have mercy on him ) has drawn the year of his birth from the following verses of Quraan.
"These are they into whose hearts He has impressed faith and when He has strengthened an inspiration Him"(S- L VIII ,Mojaadiah )*Oolaaa-ika kettaba fee qoloobi-himull-eemaana wa ay-yada-huum-bi-roohim-minho* (S-L VIII)
They are those in whose hearts faith has been engraved and they have been helped spiritually-Allah is pleased with such ones and they are pleased with Him.Al-Quran 59:22
INTRODUCTION :
Ahmed Raza Khan Brelvi ( mercy of Allah be upon him) was a pathan descent,belonged to "Hanafiah" School of thought, 'Qadiri Order, and was born in Breley (UP, a city of India) his highly respected father Maulana Naqee Ali Khan (mercy of Allah be upon him) died 1292 H.D/1880 A.D. and his respected grand father Maulana Raza Ali Khan (mercy of Allah be upon him) died 1282 A.H/1866 A.D. were highly learned scholar and they had intuitive understanding of religious matters. In his poetic diction he has mentioned the same fact has"Ahmad Hindi Raza Ibn e Naqee Ibn e Raza".
Sacred Name :
The respected Aa' laa Hazrat Brelvi was named Muhammad, and his historical name was"Al-Mukhtaar" 1272 A.D./1856 A.D but his grand father Maulana Raza Ali Khan (mercy of Allah be upon him) suggested his name as 'Ahmed Raza'. Afterwords respected Brelvey himself added the words of 'Abul Mustafa' and hence his poetic dictions he days "O" Raza! do not be afraid you are under protection.
Education and intelligence:
Due to his natural intelligence he completed his academic education at the age of 13 years,10 months and 5 days. After completing education of Arabic knowledge ,his honorable father Maulana Naqee Ali Khan (mercy of Allah be upon him) entrusted him with the responsibility of passing juristic verdicts according to Islamic jurisprudence. He began writing such Islamic juristic verdicts due to his excellence in knowledge of Islam despite his tender age. In a letter to Maulana Zaffar ud din Behari,he writes "by the grace of Allah", I wrote first Islamic juristic verdict at the agof 13 years on 14th Shaban, 1284 A.H, and if life prolongs I shall by the grace of Allah,complete a period of 50 years in writing Islamic justice verdicts on the 10th of Shaban 1336 A.H./1917 A.D.Its is not possible for me to thank Allah for His bounties.
Aala Hazrat as an encyclopedia of knowledge
Aa'la Hazrat also acquired other type of knowledge and Arts as a part from the ones stipulated in academic course ; in some branches of knowledge and art his own righteous intuition guided. All such knowledge and arts number 45. Detail of which is listed below:
We believe that there is hardly a scholar in Muslim world who has imbibed so much knowledge and arts. Not only did the reverend scholars from Breley acquired knowledge but, there is not even a single branch of knowledge and arts wherein he did not leave his trace behind same of knowledge and arts mentioned above were evolved by the e great scholar from Brelvi himself, and some were owned by him .On owing and bearing,the great scholar (mercy of Allah be upon him) has thrown light as follows:
"since the time I gave up initial philosophy. I felt that this does not contain anything except greed, Its darkness and rust is overcast in such a way that the religion is usurped and the fear of the day of judgement is forgotten" therefore,I pondered over my responsibilities..I do not have interest in astronomy, geometry, astrology, logarithmic and mathematics to acquire more perfection in the branches of knowledge but I diverted my attention to these for the sake of refreshment. Apart from this it helps in stipulating and changing time,by which Muslims are benefited in checking timing of prayer and Fasts.He had intresetes in three types of missions for which he had great zeal,detail of which are as follows:
His matters of interest
1- Full respect to the leader of Messenger of Allah (Salutations of Allah be upon all of them) because everyone from Wahabi sect in using improper language for Him (SAW). It is enough credit that Rubb may accept this.About the blessing of Allah he had the same faith as Allah Himself has Said,"I treat my salve corresponding to his good thinking"
2 - Apart from this he tried to eradicate other innovation in religion because some poems claim to be Muslims but they are actually Trouble Makers.
3- He wrote Islamic juristic verdicts according to Hanafia school of thought.
Mysticism and True Islamic Path Through Mysticism
The great learned scholar from Breley , along with his respected father Maulana Muhammad Naqee ( mercy of Allah be upon him ), went to Hazrat Aale-Rasool (mercy of Allah be upon him ) In 1296 A.H.,/1878 A.D.and took Oath of allegiance in the Qadaria Order. He was also given permission and was also appointed the successor. The great scholar from Breley has praised his religious leader in his poetry.
Apart from the above mentioned branches of knowledge of human rights and duties , essay writing on varied problems, stars of the sky, art of history writing, collection of statistics, Persian poetry and rhyme, Hindi poetry, calligraphy, work in Nasakh and Nastaleeq etc.Similarly, the branches of knowledge in which the learned Breley scholar excelled exceed 54 in numbers.

(XI ) Naqshbandiyah Aaliyah Alweeya (XII ) Badeeya (XIII ) Alwiyah Maneniyah etc.
Apart from the above mentioned saintly chain the learned scholar,Breley also had permission of four types of bringing people to Sufi Order. He explained the same as follow:
1) Hussainiyah 2) Khizriyah 3) Al-Muammariyah 4) Manamiyaah
Apart from these orders 'Permission' he is also had permission of several thoughts, acts, and deeds, such as attributes of the Holy Quraan,names of Allah, arguments for charity. In pregnable fortress ( name of a book ), Hizbul-Barr, Kizbull-Nasr, Hasazull Ameerian, Harzeel Yamani ,Duaa-uz-Munghni, Qaseedah Ghausiyah, Duaa-ull-Haidri, Duaa izrael, Duaa Siryani, Qaseedah Boorda etc.
Hajj (pilgrimage ) os Sacred Kaaba:
The great scholarly personality of Breley for the second time went for Hajj of Sacred Kaaba and the see both sacred city of Mukkah and Madeena Maunawwarrah. At this occasion he wrote a poem which is included in his collection of poetry which commoners can find in the following stanza."Thanks to Allah ! today I am embarking on a sacred journey for the attainment and success of which life can be sacrificed"
During this Hajj (Muslim pilgrimage ) journey scholars of Hijaz respected him profusely as is evident from the study of the following books:
Hirammull Haramain 1324 A.H/1906 A.D, Al-Daulatull Makkiyah-1323 AH/ 1906 A.D , and Kiflul Faqih 1324 A.H / 1906 A.D
Sheikh Ismaeel (mercy of Allah be on him) has narrated the honor accorded to the great scholarly personality of Breley in the city of 'Makkah' as seen by himself as follows:
Inhabitant of Makkah gathered around me in large numbers, some of people requested me to grant them the certificate of permission ( Allow pious Muslims to discipline individuals to piety ) therefore, this was done on their insistence Maulana Hamid Raza Khan ( mercy of Allah be upon him ),had accompanied great learned scholar of Breley during this journey .He has written in the preface of book that for acquiring permission the first person who approached was Maulana Sayyed Abdul Haiye Makki,1332A.H/1912 A.D.,.He had with him a young pious person,named Sheikh Hussain Jamal Bin Abdul Rahim. Both the person were great, permission was granted to him and his brother Sayyed Mustafa Kamal 1325 A.H./1907 A.D.and other people, were favored with permission then came Maulana Sayyed Ismaeel Khalil. The permission was granted to him and his brother Sayyed Mustafa Khalil. After this came Sheikh Ahmed Khadvavi . Then other people also started coming. All were granted permission. Some people were left out. They were promised that certificates will be sent to them after reaching India.
During his stay in Sacred Makkah permission was granted to Sheikh Abdul Qadir Kurdi and his son Sheikh Fareed and sayyed Muhammad Umer also. After this the great scholar of Breley went to tomb of Holy Prophet (SAW) in Madina. The detail of the personal observation of the situation of this occasion are mentioned below by Maulana Abdul Karim Muhajir Makki ( mercy of Allah be upon him ):
"I am living in Madina for the last several years."
"Thousand of Muslims came Madina from India.They include scholars,pious people and those who fear from Allah extremely and avoid worldly involvement.I have seen that they wander aimlessly in the streets of the city,and no one cares for them but the honorable scholars from Breley had a special distinction. All the local scholars and elderly persons are attracted and approached him in large numbers,and they lost in his allegiance." This is Allah's special favour,"He bestows this on the one He likes".
In Sacred Madina many people requested the great learned scholar for permission some of them were granted permission verbally,whereas some were promised that certificates will be sent to them after his return to India.For example Sheikh Umer Bin Hamdan Al-Mehrasi, Sheikh Dalial,Sheikh Muhammad Saeed etc.
Sad Demise:
The great learned scholar of Breley Town of India died in Breley on 25th Safar Al-Muzaffar,1340 A.H. on blessed day of Jummah (Friday) at 2:38 pm."We are for Allah,and we have to return to Him".Maulana Hassan Raza Khan,who had seen this spiritual elevation scene writes:"The great scholar of Breley Town wrote his last will.He then put into practice himself.All the jobs relating to this heavenly departure were enacted according to the schedule of time.When it was four minutes to 2 o'clock,he asked time.He was told "it is now 56 minutes pas one O'clock". He asked to put the watch down.Then he abruptly asked to remove pictures.People present there wandered on this because there were no pictures. As soon as this critical moment passed, he said "these are cards ,envelops,money. Then after a short pause the spoke to respected brother Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Raza Khan,"go and perform ablution,and bring the Holy Quran"He had not as yet brought the Holy Quran.He then against said to brother Maulana Mustafa Raza Khan,"What are you doing"?Recite Surah Yaseen and Surah Raad.
