The Old Crescentarian Society was established in 1979 by Sheikh Muin-ud-Din, the then Principal of Crescent Model School, taking into consideration the earnest desire of the old students to have an organization of the alumni so as to make collective efforts for the betterment of their alma-mater. Muin-ud-Din convened the first meeting of the Old Crescentarian Society in 1979. Shamshad Muhammad Lod

hi was given the task of framing its constitution. Since then meetings of the Society have been held from time to time; and annual dinners have been arranged. The Society has been raising funds to donate to the School Library and award gold medals to the students getting top positions in the Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations. The Society also offers a number of scholarships for the students of Secondary, Higher Secondary and Girls sections of the School. The Society published a comprehensive directory in 1990, which includes the particulars of all the Old Students of this school. The Society also plans to take some other measures for the welfare of the institution.

1991 — A cherished moment with my school Principal, Mr. Shaukat Sultan, at Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, Shadman, Lahore. Some photographs preserve memories; others preserve the people who quietly shape our future.

As I came across this photograph from 1991, it brought back a flood of memories from my days at Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, Shadman, Lahore.

This was taken on the day of our farewell, when I requested our respected Principal, Mr. Shaukat Sultan, for a photograph after the ceremony. He graciously agreed, and little did I know that this simple picture would become one of my most treasured keepsakes.

Mr. Shaukat Sultan was more than a Principal. He taught us Geometry and Trigonometry, but his lessons extended beyond mathematics. His command of English was remarkable; I often felt that I truly understood and appreciated the language through his classes. He wasn't a teacher of many words, yet his presence, discipline, and high expectations inspired us to think deeply and strive for excellence.

Looking back, I realise that whatever modest academic success I achieved was never mine alone. It was the result of teachers who quietly nurtured our curiosity, kept us focused on meaningful goals, and steered us away from distractions. Their guidance laid the foundation for my lifelong journey into science and, ultimately, medicine.

To all my teachers; past and present; thank you. Your lessons continue to live through your students long after the classroom doors have closed.

Great teachers don't simply teach subjects; they shape character, inspire purpose, and leave footprints that time can never erase.

Second alumni meet up of the UK chapter in Manchester.

It was a pleasure to see Crescentarians from various batches, reconnecting through the values and experiences that have made us who we are today. The meet up reflected the strong sense of community and belonging that continues to define the Crescent family, no matter where in the world its members may be.

We were especially honoured to welcome our respected Principals, Ms. Rabia Najam (Boys Section) and Ms. Sofia Khan (Girls Section). Their reflections on Crescent's journey, ongoing developments, investment in modern learning environments, and dedication to staff development through professional training and international qualifications provided an inspiring glimpse into the school's bright future. It was wonderful to hear how Crescent continues to grow and innovate while preserving the values that have shaped generations of students.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Maliha Javed and Sana Shaukat for organising the meet up in north and to Malika Khurram (Class of 1990) and Muhammad Azam (Class of 1979) who made the effort to travel some distance to reconnect.

This was the second event which marked an exciting milestone for the UK Chapter. As envisioned by President Mian Muiz and the Executive Committee of the OCS, we hope this chapter will become a thriving platform where Crescentarians can give back to their beloved establishment, build meaningful professional relationships, and create lasting friendships.

Together, we can continue to build a strong and supportive community, celebrate our shared heritage, and keep the Crescent spirit alive for generations to come.

The journey has just begun, and we look forward to growing it together. 🌙
