The Old Crescentarian Society was established in 1979 by Sheikh Muin-ud-Din, the then Principal of Crescent Model School, taking into consideration the earnest desire of the old students to have an organization of the alumni so as to make collective efforts for the betterment of their alma-mater. Muin-ud-Din convened the first meeting of the Old Crescentarian Society in 1979. Shamshad Muhammad Lod

hi was given the task of framing its constitution. Since then meetings of the Society have been held from time to time; and annual dinners have been arranged. The Society has been raising funds to donate to the School Library and award gold medals to the students getting top positions in the Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations. The Society also offers a number of scholarships for the students of Secondary, Higher Secondary and Girls sections of the School. The Society published a comprehensive directory in 1990, which includes the particulars of all the Old Students of this school. The Society also plans to take some other measures for the welfare of the institution.

The opening round of the Alumni Tape Ball Cricket tournament wrapped up with an electrifying final showdown on Sunday, the 17th. To ensure a fierce and fair contest, the grand finale between Session 2008 and Session 2020 was played as a best-of-three series, with Session 2008 ultimately claiming the day and the championship.

In the first match, the youngsters from Session 2020 outplayed their senior counterparts with a dominant display of cricket to establish a lead. However, unfazed by the early setback, Session 2008 staged a spectacular comeback. Tightening up their fielding and delivering a masterclass with both bat and ball, the seniors completely shifted the tide, grabbing victory in the final two matches to secure the tournament trophy.

Proving that age is just a number, the seniors continue to dominate! Following the Class of 1989's victory over 2001, the Class of 2008 has triumphed over the Class of 2020. Ultimately, experience prevailed over youth.

In closing, the President of the Old Crescentarian Society Mian Muiz congratulated the winning captain Mr. Yalmaaz (Session 2008) for glorious victory, and cheered on the runner up captain Mr. Abdul Moeez (Session 2020).

Be a part of Crescent Alumni Sports. Pick your squad and lock in your batch. Step back into your old pavilion, relive your school days, and reconnect with seniors and juniors.

Stay tuned for new matches and alumni activities!

The alumni cricketing rivalry between the Class of 1987 and the Class of 1989/90 wrote another chapter on Saturday, May 16th at the Crescent Cricket Ground. This time, the veterans clashed under the floodlights in a 10-over tape-ball match.

Opting to bat first, the Class of 1987 got off to a flying start thanks to their opening batsman, Shahzeb. Carrying his bat through the innings, he smashed a fiery 27 off 21 balls*, anchoring his team to a daunting total of 85/5.

Chasing 86, the Class of 1989/90 looked done and dusted as wickets tumbled at regular intervals. With 39 runs still needed in 24 balls, and just 2 wickets in hand, a comeback seemed impossible. But “cometh the hour, cometh the man!” Kaleem turned the match completely on its head! Blasting a quickfire 26 off just 16 balls*, he single-handedly guided his side to seal the victory with 7 balls to spare.

Key Highlights:
Class of 1989/90 stretched their victory streak to 3 wins in a row!
Man of the Match: Mr. Kaleem (Session 89)

Alumni Cricket Bonanza – May 10, 2026

The Crescent Cricket Ground was buzzing with excitement on May 10th as alumni gathered for an action-packed day of hard-ball cricket, followed by a high-energy tape-ball tournament under the floodlights. The core vision behind this sports event is to promote healthy activities, foster meaningful reunions across different batches, and help us reconnect with our beloved alma mater.

The day kicked off with the Class of 1989/90 taking on the Class of 1987 in a gripping 12-over match. Batting first, the 1989/90 side posted a solid total of 97-5. The 1987 team fought incredibly hard during the chase but ultimately fell just short, getting bowled out for 94 and handing the 1989/90 team a narrow 3-run victory. Mr. Zafar Ahmad took home the "Man of the Match" award for his outstanding performance. He took 4 wickets and 1 catch helping the 1989/90 session secure their second consecutive win in the series. From session 1987, Mr. Shahzaib Ahmad played immaculate innings by scoring 54 runs.

During the post-match ceremony, we were honored to be joined by the Secretary, Crescent Educational Trust, Mian Altaf M. Saleem, who served as our Chief Guest and addressed the old Crescentarians from different batches. He shared the management's ongoing initiatives to restore the school to its historic glory and praised the incredible achievements of Crescentarians across the globe in all walks of life. He warmly welcomed the alumni to return and reconnect, emphasizing that the gates of their mother institution will always remain open to them.

Concluding the ceremony, the President of the Crescent Alumni Association, Mr. Mian Muiz, thanked the Chief Guest and delivered a heartfelt message to the gathering. He passionately urged Crescentarians to "Pay Back to the school” that shaped them. He emphasized that this vital support can take many forms like providing the financial sponsorships, philanthropic contributions, offering professional support, and actively participate in events necessary to fuel the school's continuous success. By pooling our resources and talents, he noted, we can collectively ensure an even brighter future for Crescent.

Later in the evening, as the floodlights illuminated the grounds, our first-ever tape-ball tournament commenced. The 8-over matches delivered non-stop entertainment:

Match 1: Session 2020 put on an absolute clinic, posting a formidable 111-1 and restricting Session 2016 to 72-3. This comfortable victory secured their place in the final with a massive net run rate.

Match 2: A total nail-biter! Session 2008 and Session 2018 tied at exactly 65 runs each. In a high-pressure Super Over, Session 2008 held their nerve to clinch the win.

Match 3 (Playoff): Session 2008 faced off against Session 2001 to secure the final spot in the tournament. Session 2008 set a challenging target of 88-1. Session 2001 was at 56-2 in 6 overs when bad weather forced an indefinite halt to the play, resulting in Session 2008 being declared the winner by 15 runs via the D/L method, and reached the final.

Looking ahead, the stage is now set for an epic final between Session 2008 and Session 2020 at the Crescent Cricket Ground next weekend. Mark your calendars and bring your friends and family for what promises to be an unforgettable clash!
