We respect the value of each person as a unique creation of God. We focus on individuals, groups of individuals and peoples who are pushed again and again towards the edge of societies. They want to participate in their society and take control o
f their own lives. We want to cooperate with their community centres, social structures ,local authorities, and join them in lobbying at international institutes. To encourage own initiatives, to strengthen capacities of especially youth and women, to help getting one’s own voice heard, thát is the bottom line. It’s the only way to seize the opportunity together to increase participation in society. Violence against women is now internationally recognised as violation of human rights. Brave women testify in front of international forums, global women’s networks keep gender agendas of politicians and private sector. But how, than by supporting local women’s groups, do you reach in remote areas, in closed communities where too many benefit from a subordinate role of women. Where on one in three women are beaten, r***d or otherwise The perpetrators are often known: partners, fathers, friends’ or neighbours. Also soldiers use violence against as a weapon of war. Poverty always affects the whole person – body, mind and soul. Accordingly our service incorporates meeting physical as well as intellectual and emotional needs. For all our projects we always have one goal in mind: to secure a future by developing a good, individual perspective together with and for those in need. Countless studies have proven that the best method to reach this goal is helping people help themselves
Our strategies aim at achieving the best possible longterm effect for those we serve. This is why we make use of people’s potential for helping themselves by providing vocational training and support for income generating projects. We dedicate our efforts to assure affordable and accessible basic health care for the poor. We support communities to enhance self determination for everybody. That is what we pursue with our partners. Through our lobby activities on national and international level, we want to make sure that the needs of medical personnel and the care for the most vulnerable groups will not be forgotten by decision makers.SHED Society helps fight the disasterous consequences of war, hunger, sickness and natural catastrophes in an unbureaucratic, concrete and effective way. We provide fast relief to support the survival of those affected by these catastrophes. The mission of SHED Society is to demonstrate God’s love by enabling people affected by conflict and disaster to rebuild their communities and restore their lives.
