Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) & Birth Defects Foundation Unite for Advanced Healthcare Training and Patient Care Across Pakistan
On Monday, 8th June, an important Zoom meeting was conducted between Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Vice Chairperson Dr. Sana Yasir from Karachi and Birth Defects Foundation, focusing on collaboration, professional training, and improving healthcare services for Intersex, CAH-46 XX, and Transgender patients across Pakistan.
The meeting aimed to strengthen national and international training opportunities for healthcare professionals to ensure that patients suffering from birth defects and gender-related medical conditions receive more professional, compassionate, and advanced medical care.
Representing Birth Defects Foundation in this informative and experience-sharing session were:
• Ansar Javaid – Chairman & Psychologist, Lahore.
• Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Sheikh – Chief Surgeon Lahore
• Dr. Nasir Mahmood – Bahawalpur, Head of Research CAH-46 XX
• Dr. Narjis Zahra – Karachi
• Ms. Furqan – Manager IT, Data Analyst & Patient Coordinator Lahore.
The session proved to be highly productive and served as an excellent platform for knowledge sharing, future planning, and professional collaboration. During the meeting, Dr. Sana Yasir graciously offered PMA’s support for collaborative training programs, professional certifications, capacity building, and enhancing the expertise of Birth Defects Foundation at both national and international levels.
Birth Defects Foundation warmly welcomed this collaboration and sincerely appreciated the commitment of PMA and Vice Chairperson Dr. Sana Yasir toward improving medical care, awareness, research, and training for Intersex, Transgender, and Birth Defect patients.
Together, this partnership is expected to open new doors for humanitarian healthcare services, medical education, and patient care in Pakistan.
