Our International Engagements Coordinator, Mr. Danish Tariq spoke at the Forum on Financing for Development ( ) at the UN Headquarters 🇺🇳 in New York 🇺🇸

He highlighted key priorities from youth across regions - from rising debt burdens limiting investments to the urgent need for stronger regional-global linkages, inclusive financing systems, and reforms in the international financial architecture.

YAN was part of the Global Consultation on the Second Progress Study on YPS where we facilitated the Asia Pacific Regional Session and contributed to the discussions on financing YPS, its interlinkages with broader UN reform processes, and regional priorities, while highlighting Pakistan’s role in peacebuilding and advancing youth-led, inclusive approaches to policy and decision-making.

Our Founder-CEO, Mr. Fsahat Ul Hassan, along with our International Engagements Coordinator, Mr. Danish Tariq, and youth delegates Ms. Bisma and Mr. Faakhar from Pakistan, met with Dr. Felipe Paullier, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs at UN Youth Office.

The meeting focused on Pakistan’s role in shaping global youth policy and exploring key avenues for future collaboration.

We had a meeting with Dr. Shabana Saleem, Director General of the Population Program Wing (PPW), Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination (M/o NHSR&C), on the sidelines of the Commission on Population and Development.

During the meeting, we shared our positioning within the Youth and CSOs group, along with our previous engagements and contributions under FP2030.

We had a productive meeting with Mr. Muhammad Awais, Director of Muslim Affairs, and Ms. Hanadi Doleh, Deputy Director of Community Engagement & Partnerships at the Office of the Attorney General of New York State.

The discussion focused on exploring strategic opportunities for joint youth engagement and fostering collaboration between New York’s diverse communities and the youth of Pakistan.

The delegation was led by our Founder & CEO, Mr. Fsahat Ul-Hassan, along with our International Engagements Coordinator, Mr. Danish Tariq, and our USA-based member, Mr. Asad Abbas. The delegation also included Deputy Director, PMYP, Mr. Amsal Zaman.

Our Program Coordinator, Mr. Junaid Tahir represented Youth Advocacy Network YAN at the annual convening of the Pakistan Alliance for Postabortion Care (PAPAC) — the PAPAC National Assembly (AGM) held in Karachi. During the discussion, Junaid highlighted the need to develop SOPs for reproductive health services in humanitarian crises as part of efforts to ensure uninterrupted access to essential care.
