Mian Amer Mahmood has been a transformative figure in Pakistan's educational landscape since 1985, having built the country's largest private educational network, comprising four universities in major metropolitan centers and an alumni body of over 3.2 million. Guided by his vision of accessible quality education, his institutions sustain an annual scholarship fund of PKR 8.5 billion, enabling students from all backgrounds to pursue higher learning and careers in Pakistan and abroad. He is also the founder of the Punjab Group of Colleges, the University of Central Punjab, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, and Allied Schools, which have expanded opportunities nationwide. Beyond education, he launched Dunya News in 2008 and later Roznama Dunya, and served as Mayor of Lahore from 2001 to 2009, forging partnerships with cities including Glasgow, Chicago, Isfahan, and Mashhad. In 2012, the President of Pakistan awarded him the Hilal-i-Imtiaz in recognition of his contributions to education, media, and governance.
