Aziza Soleh, CEO and co-founder of MountainShop.pk, is transforming the entrepreneurial landscape for women in Gilgit-Baltistan. Through her e-commerce platform, she bridges the gap between local artisans and global markets, enabling women to turn their crafts into profitable businesses.

Aziza has empowered over 5,000 young female entrepreneurs and nurtured 500 women-led businesses, providing mentorship and fostering an environment for growth. In 2023, she was recognized with the Best Female Lead award for her leadership in promoting women’s entrepreneurship.

As a business coach, Aziza specializes in helping women leaders build sustainable ventures, offering personalized guidance focused on growth and success. Her expertise in digital marketing and business solutions, including SAP and Oracle, further supports businesses in the region.

Diana Baig Leads Summer Cricket coaching for Young Girls in Gojal Bala, Sost.

In a groundbreaking initiative, Diana Baig, renowned fast bowler of Pakistan's national women's cricket team, took charge of a two-day summer training camp for girls at Hussainabad Sost cricket ground. Organized by the Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board (AKYSB) for Gojal Bala, the event aimed to foster cricketing talent among young girls from Khyber Gojal to Misgar.

Over 100 enthusiastic participants from various regions attended the coaching sessions, where Baig personally imparted techniques in bowling, fielding, and batting. This initiative, supported by AKYSB, Sost, marks a significant effort to empower young girls through sports and promote cricketing prowess in the region.

Eshal Fatima and Abeera Rubab from Hunza attended the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival 2024 in Austin, Texas. Eshal Fatima and Abeera Rubab were cast in the international film Yasmeen's Element. Eshal was cast as the main character, Yasmeen, while Rubab was cast as her best friend, Nadia.
The film is an allegorical day-in-the-life adventure lived through the eyes of a naïve, determined young girl in search of her missing homework assignment, while the pressures of the adult world threaten her and her rural mountain village in Pakistan.
Yasmeen's Element was filmed in Gojal, Hunza, and directed by Amman Abbasi.

Marvi Baig made GB proud.

Hailing from Gulmit Gojal Marvi is a young footballer from Gilgit Baltistan, who made it directly to the National football team of Pakistan.

Currently she is part of the National team going to participate in SAFF Women's championship in Nepal.

Marvi started her career in 2018 and in such a span of time she achieved her aims, just because of her passion and hardwork.

It's only possible because of a supportive brother, and apart from that platforms like 'The Highlanders FC' and initiatives like Mountain Girls Premier League - MGPL and Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League where such talents are hunted.

“My football journey started when I was 9. As a child, I would watch football matches with my father and strangely, regardless of the societal beliefs, he would never mention that football was a men’s sport. That’s when I got interested in the game. However, I was disappointed as I couldn’t find a team to play with, nor any ground. I knew I had to change things so I started the Chitral Women’s Sports Club in 2018, with the objective of providing a safe space for young Chitrali girls to engage in sporting activities and to empower them through sports. Was the journey easy? Absolutely not! But what kept me going was the future of other girls who wanted to join the field; people of my community who wanted change for their daughters, and all the people who kept supporting me regardless of the backlash I recieved. As a result, we have 151 girls playing different sports at my club.
