I lived one third of my life in UK and worked for few international organizations. including British Council where I served in both UK and Pakistan. The passion to serve humanity was always inside me and that was the reason I also joined South Yorkshire voluntary police department. Despite all this the satisfaction wasn't enough because I really wanted to do something for my own country. So I came back to Pakistan, and found about the idea of 'A Litre of Light' through which we can light up lives of disadvantaged and dislocated people of Pakistan, all by using a bottle of Pepsi. Pepsi Pakistan welcomed us with their arms wide open and walked with us step by step. We initiated a project in Bannu where 0.9 to 1.2 million IDPs were located due to recent army operation against terrorists. There were many disabled and old people who couldn't go to bathroom in the dark because of no light. Many businesses of the poor were abandoned because of low light and even doctors were facing difficulties during the night. Children couldn't study or play in the in the dark. We used a bottle of Pepsi to work as a light that charges on solar panel and automatically turns on when its dark and turns off when sun rises. With support of Pepsi and 'A litre of Light' we have made it possible to light up lives of millions.
When god make the sun rise, it is not ordered to shine upon only specific group, race or religious sect. Similarly it is not our decision to make, whether to help a specific group or neglect other. Humanity does not differentiate. Humanity is for all.
