President Donald Trump is set to sign a sweeping tax and spending bill into law, marking a major political win after a tight House vote. The legislation includes permanent tax cuts, boosts for Trump's immigration agenda, and rollbacks on health and welfare programs.
It also eliminates green energy incentives and is projected to significantly increase national debt. Despite internal concerns, nearly all Republicans backed the bill, while Democrats opposed it, calling it a giveaway to the wealthy. Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries delivered a historic speech in protest. Trump strongly pushed for its passage, urging Republicans to vote in favor

U.S. intelligence observed Iran’s military loading naval mines onto vessels in the Persian Gulf in June, shortly after Israel’s missile strikes on June 13, raising alarms that Tehran may have considered blockading the Strait of Hormuz, officials said. The mines were never deployed, and analysts speculate the move might have been symbolic or a contingency.

The Strait facilitates nearly 20 % of global oil and gas shipments; its closure could have severely disrupted energy markets. Iran’s parliament supported a non-binding closure resolution, but ultimate authority rests with the Supreme National Security Council

The Punjab government has inaugurated the CM Punjab Green Credit Programme, a first-of-its-kind incentive scheme allowing citizens to earn Green Credits, each worth Rs 1,000, by engaging in verified climate-positive actions including depositing plastic bottles in recycling machines. Currently piloted in Lahore, the programme covers 31 sectors like tree plantation, rooftop gardening, e biking, waste segregation, and renewable energy usage.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s initiative also allocates funds for e bike distribution, electric buses, and a climate observatory, integrating drone surveillance and air-quality monitoring to combat smog.
With its blend of public engagement and environmental oversight, Punjab is setting a new precedent in citizen driven sustainability rewards.

Amid the worst India Pakistan military clash in decades during early May, cultural bonds, especially in cinema and music have fractured. Pakistani artists with substantial Indian followings, such as rapper Ali Gul Pir and singer Annural Khalid, saw their content blocked or removed from Indian platforms. Bollywood soundtracks featuring Pakistani talent, like Mahira Khan in Raees, vanished from Indian Spotify.

Indian actor Suniel Shetty urged banning everything cultural, from cricket to films. Still, despite growing tensions, Indian films continue to dominate Pakistan’s Netflix top charts, while Pakistani songs trend widely in India, showing that the love for shared cultural art remains strong.

A heartbreaking reminder of our vulnerabilities. 🌊 In Swat, 18 family members were swept away by raging floods, stranded for hours without rescue. This isn’t just a tragedy — it’s an alarm bell for Pakistan’s disaster management failures.

Iran’s Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, publicly appeared at a “victory” celebration in Tehran, quashing recent reports that he had been killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran’s military leadership since June 13. Videos aired by Tasnim News and Press TV confirmed his presence, showing him mingling with jubilant crowds .

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei denounced recent U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, declaring that “the U.S. gained no achievement” and that the attacks achieved “nothing significant,” accusing former President Trump of exaggerating their impact. He highlighted Iran’s retaliatory missile fire as a “slap to America’s face” and warned that further U.S. aggression would be met with response.

In contrast, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, backed by Trump, labeled the strikes as “historically successful,” asserting the nuclear program was severely damaged and ridiculing media for disputing the official claim

Pakistan’s government has officially nominated former U.S. President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, praising his “decisive diplomatic intervention” during last month’s India Pakistan crisis. In a statement on X, Islamabad lauded Trump’s “strategic foresight” and “stellar statesmanship” in engaging both Islamabad and New Delhi, helping secure a ceasefire after four days of intense cross border fighting.

The government described him as a “genuine peacemaker,” noting his prior offers to address the Kashmir dispute. India, however, maintains its military pressure prompted the de escalation. Pakistan hopes Trump’s efforts will foster broader South Asian and global stability.

The Iran–Israel conflict, ongoing since June 13, has escalated sharply. Israel has carried out airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and missile facilities, reportedly delaying Iran’s nuclear ambitions by 2–3 years. Iran retaliated with multiple missile and drone salvos across Israel, activating air-raid sirens in Tel Aviv and southern regions, Israeli civilian casualties include at least 24 deaths.
In Geneva, four hour talks between Iran and European ministers collapsed, with Iran refusing diplomacy until Israeli aggression ends. International observers fear further escalation as both nations show no signs of backing down, raising concerns over regional stability and the potential for a broader war.
