On 28th July, 2026, a delegation of WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) sector experts from Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited PMDFC on a study tour. The delegation included representatives from government water supply and sanitation institutions, as well as development partners.
Mudassar Javed, Director Planning & Evaluation, WASA Lahore, and Mubarak Ali Sarwar, Chief Executive Officer of Aagahi, participated as special guests. The study tour was organized jointly by Aagahi and Welthungerhilfe.
The purpose of the visit was to facilitate inter-provincial exchange of successful experiences and best practices. The delegation received briefings on the P-1, PMDFC, and WASA projects, along with institutional reforms.
Syed Zahid Aziz, Managing Director of PMDFC, briefed participants on the initiatives currently being implemented by the company. Mudassar Javed, Director Planning & Evaluation, gave a detailed presentation on the initiatives undertaken by WASA Lahore.
Participants were also shown a special documentary highlighting the initiatives of the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) and WASA Lahore.

On 21st July 2026, the Pakistan Water Operators Network (PWON) successfully organized a Consultation Workshop in collaboration with AGAHE and Welthungerhilfe aimed at strengthening PWON as a dynamic Knowledge and Resource Hub Centre for Pakistan’s water and sanitation sector

The workshop brought together representatives from water utilities, civil society organizations, UNICEF, academia, development partners, stakeholders and representatives from member organizations to exchange ideas, share experiences, and collaboratively identify strategies for enhancing knowledge sharing, resource mobilization, institutional collaboration. institutional governance, membership, digital knowledge storage, training resources and expert networking.

Through engaging discussions and valuable recommendations, participants reaffirmed their commitment to building a stronger, more connected network that empowers organizations and promotes sustainable community development.

Participants also agreed to develop a pool of professionals/experts from WASH sector to promote research and knowledge-based solutions to the challenges facing Pakistan’s WASH sector.
