Church Calls for Prayer and Peace as Talks Take Place in Islamabad
Lahore, Pakistan — April 12, 2026
The Church of Pakistan calls upon all faithful believers and people of goodwill to uphold in prayer the ongoing dialogue and peace efforts taking place in Islamabad between representatives of the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
At a time of global uncertainty and heightened tensions, such engagements offer a vital opportunity for constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and the pursuit of lasting peace.
The Church affirms that true peace is rooted in justice, truth, and respect for human dignity. In this spirit, we urge all parties involved to approach these deliberations with wisdom, restraint, and a sincere commitment to reconciliation.
We especially remember in our prayers the leadership of the nations:
Donald Trump, President of the United States, and J D Vance, Vice President of the United States and members of the American delegation;
Masoud Pezeshkian, and those entrusted with representing Iran, including Abbas Araghchi and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf;
and the leadership of Pakistan, particularly Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir, for their role in facilitating dialogue and promoting regional stability.
The Church commends the efforts of Pakistan in hosting and supporting this important initiative and prays that our nation may continue to serve as a bridge for peace among nations.
In accordance with the Holy Scriptures, we are reminded:
“Seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14)
We therefore call upon our congregations across the country to offer earnest prayers for:
• Wisdom and discernment for all leaders and negotiators
• A spirit of humility and cooperation in the dialogue
• Protection for the vulnerable and those affected by conflict
• Outcomes that advance justice, stability, and lasting peace
May God grant that these efforts bear fruit in reconciliation and renewed hope for the nations.

چرچ آف پاکستان تمام ایمانداروں اور نیک نیتی رکھنے والے افراد سے اپیل کرتا ہے کہ وہ ریاستہائے متحدہ امریکہ اور اسلامی جمہوریہ ایران کے نمائندگان کے درمیان اسلام آباد میں جاری مذاکرات اور امن کی کوششوں کے لیے دعا کریں۔
عالمی بے یقینی اور بڑھتی ہوئی کشیدگی کے اس وقت میں، اس نوعیت کے روابط تعمیری مکالمے، باہمی افہام و تفہیم اور پائیدار امن کے حصول کے لیے ایک اہم موقع فراہم کرتے ہیں۔
چرچ اس بات کی تصدیق کرتا ہے کہ حقیقی امن انصاف، سچائی اور انسانی وقار کے احترام میں جڑا ہوا ہے۔ اسی جذبے کے تحت ہم تمام متعلقہ فریقین سے گزارش کرتے ہیں کہ وہ ان مذاکرات میں حکمت، ضبط اور مخلصانہ مفاہمت کے عزم کے ساتھ شریک ہوں۔
ہم اپنی دعاؤں میں خصوصاً ان ممالک کی قیادت کو یاد رکھتے ہیں:
ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ، صدر ریاستہائے متحدہ امریکہ، اور جے ڈی وینس، نائب صدر ریاستہائے متحدہ امریکہ، نیز امریکی وفد کے اراکین؛
صدرمسعود پزشکیان، اور ایران کی نمائندگی کے لیے مقرر افراد جن میں وزیر خارجہ عباس عراقچی اور سپیکر محمد باقر قالیباف شامل ہیں؛
اور پاکستان کی قیادت، بالخصوص وزیراعظم پاکستان شہباز شریف اور فیلڈ مارشل و چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز سیدعاصم منیر، جو مکالمے کی سہولت کاری اور علاقائی استحکام کے فروغ میں کردار ادا کر رہے ہیں۔
چرچ آف پاکستان اس اہم اقدام کی میزبانی اور حمایت پر پاکستان کی کوششوں کو سراہتا ہے اور دعا کرتا ہے کہ ہمارا ملک اقوام کے درمیان امن کے لیے ایک پل کا کردار ادا کرتا رہے۔
مقدس کلام کے مطابق ہمیں یاد دلایا جاتا ہے:
“صلح کو تلاش کر اور اس کے طالب رہو۔” (زبور 34:14)
لہٰذا ہم ملک بھر کی اپنی جماعتوں سے درخواست کرتے ہیں کہ وہ خلوصِ دل سے دعا کریں:
• تمام رہنماؤں اور مذاکرات کاروں کے لیے حکمت اور بصیرت
• مکالمے میں فروتنی اور باہمی تعاون کا جذبہ
• کمزوروں اور تنازعات سے متاثرہ افراد کے تحفظ کے لیے
• ایسے نتائج کے لیے جو انصاف، استحکام اور پائیدار امن کو فروغ دیں
خدا کرے کہ یہ کوششیں مفاہمت اور اقوام کے لیے نئی امید کا باعث بنیں۔

Intercessory Prayer for Peace Talks in Islamabad (Revised)
Almighty God,
the Sovereign Lord of nations and the Prince of Peace,
We come before You in humility and faith, seeking Your mercy for a troubled world and Your wisdom for those entrusted with leadership.
At this critical hour, as dialogue takes place in Islamabad, we lift before You the leaders of the nations:
We pray for Donald Trump, President of the United States, and members of the American delegation, including
JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States
We pray for Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and for those leading the Iranian delegation, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Abbas Araghchi;
We pray for our own leaders in Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister and Field Marshall General Syed Asim Munir, who have undertaken the responsibility of mediation and peace-building.
O Lord,
Grant them wisdom beyond human understanding, patience in negotiation, and courage to choose peace over conflict.
Where there is mistrust, bring understanding; where there is hostility, bring reconciliation; where there is fear, bring Your perfect peace.
God of justice and truth,
Let righteousness and peace embrace in these deliberations.
Restrain the forces of violence and destruction, and guide the nations into paths of justice, dignity, and mutual respect.
We remember before You the innocen
-those who suffer the consequences of war, the displaced, the wounded, and the fearful.
Be their refuge and their hope.
Lord Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace,
Speak peace to the nations.
Let Your Spirit move among leaders and delegates, that agreements may be just, lasting, and life-giving.
May Pakistan be an instrument of Your peace, and may this moment become a turning point from conflict to cooperation, from hostility to healing.
We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

اس نازک گھڑی میں، جب اسلام آباد میں مذاکرات جاری ہیں، ہم تیرے حضور اقوام کے رہنماؤں کو پیش کرتے ہیں:
