My gloves are saving me from the cold as we ride the expressway towards Murree and Muzaffarabad. The road is very clean, newly renovated, and built with safety in mind. Witnessed toll plazas and many bikers riding alongside. Saw a castle-like structure—not sure what it is. This is my first time riding to Murree on a bike; before, it was always by car. Fatigue is kicking in, so a small tea break is coming up soon before continuing towards Muzaffarabad.

Almost on Murree Expressway. Took short stops with Hashim and discussed the bypass route. Witnessed many bikers on the road — heavy bikes, biker groups, even Benelli riders. The new Kahuta Bypass is amazing and helped us save nearly one hour of travel time.

Experienced Islamabad traffic, and honestly the driving sense felt strange and a bit bizarre. Everyone drives fast because of the wide roads. After a few detours, we finally entered the Murree Expressway. Clean Islamabad, mountains ahead, and Murree coming closer. The vibe of Islamabad is pure love — no rickshaws or animal carts allowed, which makes a big difference.

Stopped briefly to get gloves, then the morning ride begins towards Islamabad. Passing through Rawat, with Chakwal in the surroundings, witnessing multiple toll plazas on the way. Rawalpindi is almost here, and entering Islamabad brings a fresh, positive vibe. Next route is Kahuta Bypass, then Murree Expressway. Around 3 hours to Muzaffarabad, and the final goal remains Sharda.

These are the Chakwal canyons, made of mud with beautiful natural structures. A scenic place people visit, perfect for photography, landscapes, and crops around the area. Hashim, my companion from Lahore, is riding with me — fully loaded. This is my first tour with him, two riders sharing the same passion. Also spotted some amazing buses on the road, and from the train, these canyons can be seen very closely.

The journey is going smooth after 7–8 hours of riding. Took two short stops to recharge — first at Mian Ji Daal, then a quick stop for namaz and a power nap to regain energy before continuing the ride.

GT Road should be wide, clean, and well-maintained, but sadly it’s always in poor condition. It feels neglected, possibly due to the focus on motorways. This road never gets the attention it truly deserves. Real ground reality from the ride.

Left Lahore at 11 PM for a cold night ride on GT Road. Around 70 km from Islamabad, riding slow due to extreme cold. Passed Salt Range, Kallar Kahar, and Chakwal canyons. Chakwal road on the left, straight towards Rawalpindi (62 km). Sharing real GT Road riding conditions.

The journey to Kashmir from Lahore begins. I was supposed to ride my bigger bike, but it didn’t start, so I made a quick decision and brought my Suzuki 110 for this tour. Early morning ride on GT Road, fresh air, and pure excitement as Day 1 officially starts.
