It is with immense joy that the Asia Pacific Women's Coalition for Al-Quds and Palestine (ApWCQP), together with Malaysian Women's Coalition for Al-Quds and Palestine (MWCQP) extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Nurjanah Hulwani on successfully obtaining her Doctorate degree with distinction.

As the President of the Global Women’s Coalition for Quds and Palestine (GWCQP), Dr. Nurjanah continues to be a beacon of leadership. Her dissertation, entitled “Protecting Humanitarian Volunteers in Light of the Holy Qur’an,” bridges vital humanitarian principles with Islamic teachings, offering invaluable insights for our ongoing work.

We pray that Allah grants her abundant success and unwavering strength as she continues to advocate for and support the Ummah.

ApWCQP Honored in the 2026 War Abolisher Movement Award

The Asia Pacific Women's Coalition for Al-Quds and Palestine (ApWCQP) is immensely proud to be part of the Flotillas to Gaza movement, which has officially been awarded the War Abolisher Movement of 2026 award by World BEYOND War!

This award honors the decades-long, relentless global effort to break the illegal naval blockade on Gaza, and draw the world's attention to the ongoing genocide and manufactured starvation of the Palestinian people.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to our very own ApWCQP leaders who have been at the forefront of this historic resistance:

* Dr. Fauziah Mohd Hasan (President, ApWCQP) – Steering Committee, Freedom Flotilla
* Norsham Abu Bakar (Exco Member, ApWCQP) – Steering Committee, Freedom Flotilla
* Dr. Maimon Herawati (Exco Member, ApWCQP) – Steering Committee, Global Sumud Flotilla

The award was presented by World BEYOND War Vice President Liz Remmerswaal. Accepting on behalf of the entire movement were Thiago de Ávila e Silva Oliveira (Global Sumud Flotilla) and Ismail Behesti (Freedom Flotilla Coalition).

The 2026 Impact:
This year, the movement saw an unprecedented mobilization. Over 2,000 people from 45+ countries participated, with 86 boats sailing across the Mediterranean sea. Almost 500 unarmed civilians went eyeball-to-eyeball with heavily armed troops. While the boats were violently seized, the activists' immense courage shifted the global paradigm—forcing international media to cover the abuses and compelling governments worldwide (including Spain, France, South Korea, and Ireland) to take diplomatic action and condemn the blockade.

As Thiago de Ávila e Silva Oliveira stated, "The flotillas are a collective action of thousands of people all over the world who believe that the genocide must end and true peace with justice must be achieved."

ApWCQP stands firm in our commitment to this cause. We will not stop until Palestine is free.

The Asia Pacific Women's Coalition for Al-Quds and Palestine (ApWCQP) recently joined the GWCQP General Secretariat Meeting, a powerful testament to our international solidarity.

The meeting was attended by approximately 20 representatives spanning across multiple countries, bringing together four key regional coalitions:
1. European Women Coalition
2. Maghrib Women Coalition
3. Asia Pacific Women Coalition
4. East Africa Women Coalition

During the session, we exchanged comprehensive progress reports, highlighting the ongoing efforts for Al-Quds and Palestine in our respective regions. As a gesture of appreciation and unity, special brooches were gifted to the participants, symbolizing our strong bonds of sisterhood.

We look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts on a global scale.
