Jewish leaders and a CDU politician in Germany have called on Chancellor Olaf Scholzās government to support Israel militarily in the face of Iranian threats. Dr. Josef Schuster, president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, emphasized the country's historical responsibility to ensure Israel's security, suggesting that Germany should stand with Israel militarily if necessary. CDU foreign policy expert Roderich Kiesewetter echoed these concerns, proposing that Germany could help defend Israel by using Eurofighter jets against Iranian drones. Despite these calls, the current coalition government, made up of the Social Democrats, Free Democratic Party, and Green Party, has shown little interest in providing military support, leading to frustration among pro-Israel Germans.
